The Body Shop British Rose Review
Pick of the Month | The Body Shop British Rose Review
Who doesn't love smelling like a bunch of fresh flowers and enjoying supple skin all day long? Well, we sure do and when the folks at The Body Shop introduced us to their new range - British Rose about a month back, we were both super happy and a little skeptical. Happy, because the packaging took our breath away, and skeptical because our past experiences with products that contain Rose as the main ingredient wasn't very memorable. Fortunately for us, the British Rose range was nothing like the stuff that made us cringe at the whiff of a strong rosy fragrance (remember, the kind of products that make you feel like you've bathed in rose attar). On the contrary, The Body Shop has got a luxurious and sinful collection in the form of British Rose, which is perfect to indulge in on a sultry afternoon. Read on to know more.
What? - The Body Shop British Rose Range
Products Reviewed: British Rose Body Scrub, British Rose Body Butter
Price: Rs 1295 and Rs 1095 respectively
Quantity: 250ml and 200ml respectively
What do they promise?: The British Rose range is a British interpretation of a timeless icon of femininity. Our organic roses are hand picked, air-dried and then infused. Giving us exceptional quality rose essence for our products, leaving you glowing.
The Body Shop British Rose Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub
What does it promise? - Exfoliating feels exquisite with this beautiful gel textured body scrub with real rose petals. Infused with the essence of roses from Britain, it effortlessly melts onto the skin and gently refines to reveal smoother, fresher skin.
Packaging: Housed in a chic black jar, which is sturdy and makes the product easy to use. We took it along on a trip and the product did not spill.
Our experience: Easily one of the best scrubs launched by The Body Shop in recent times, the British Rose Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub is gentle on the skin. True to its promise, the scrub leaves your skin feeling smooth and supple. The gel based texture of the scrub makes it perfect for even those with sensitive skin (and I am one of them). The rich fragrance of British Rose is soft and aromatic; enough to make your regular shower feel like a royal bath. The scrub does a great job of getting rid of dead skin cells and ensures that you leave the shower feeling clean and fresh. The fragrance lasts for a good 2-3 hours post shower.
The Body Shop British Rose Instant Body Glow Body Butter
What does it promise? - Indulge in dewy hydration with our first Body Butter with glow enhancing rose essence. Beautifully pearlescent, this velvety-soft moisturiser is light to the touch but rich on moisture. The product gives you an instant all-over healthy looking skin.
Packaging: This one is packed in the signature body butter jar by The Body Shop. Though, we like the rose pink hue, which makes the jar look very chic.
Our experience: Ah! The delightful aroma of hand-picked roses. Truly, The Body Shop has hit the bulls eye with this one. British Rose Instant Glow Body Butter is our favourite from the range. While we can't vouch for the 'glow' factor, it certainly does a great job of ensuring that your skin stays hydrated and soft for 6-7 hours. Plus, the fragrance is an added bonus, which is not too overpowering or subtle either. The soft, rosy aroma of the butter makes you feel fresh and delightful all day long. Keeping the humid weather of our city in mind, we were a bit nervous about applying a body butter on an afternoon that touched 36 degrees. However, despite being a body butter, the product is not too greasy or sticky. In fact, the silky butter glides on well and gets absorbed rather quickly. Perfect for dry and sensitive skin, especially those who are looking to pamper their skin and keep it well hydrated throughout the year. We loved it!
Pros
Delightful fragrance
The fragrance is not too overpowering
Elegant packaging
Rich and perfectly textured
Ensures soft and supple skin
Decent price points
Cons
The body butter has nothing to do with 'glow'
Verdict: This one is our 'Pick of the Month' for a reason. Our experience of using the products has been a pretty good one, especially the body butter. A shower with this scrub is equal to enjoying a luxurious bath with a tub full of water with rose petals. We highly recommend the British Rose range to those with normal to dry skin.

Udta Punjab Music Review
Getting Trippy With It | Udta Punjab Music Review
Every time I attend a trailer launch, I am bound to judge the music of that film, before I can judge its prospects at the box office. At most events, the signature background score or the main track is continuously played, to ensure that it stays with you several hours after the event. Something similar happened to me during the Udta Punjab trailer launch last month, as I just couldn't take the signature tune out of my head. I kept humming, tapping my feet and later, discussing my pre-release excitement for the film's music on Snapchat. Needless to say, composer Amit Trivedi's work has matched up to all my expectations from the album, that gives you some serious musical 'high'.
The seven track album starts off with Chitta Ve, which is brilliantly sung by Babu Habbi, Shahid Mallya and Bhanu Prtap. This high octane song is enough to make you get up and shake a leg. Hear the lyrics closely, and you are sure to realise that it goes much beyond simply being just another song. Chitta Ve is a harsh reality - that of a drug user's state of mind and how the substance has swamped the state of Punjab, especially the youth. Kudos to lyricist Shellee for a well penned track. Chitta Ve is edgy and highly addictive, making it one of our favourite songs from the album.
The upbeat and easygoing Da da dasse comes next. Again, one can't enough of the signature tune here. Kanika Kapoor's vocals, coupled with Babu Habbi's rapping and Trivedi's perfect composition make this one a well arranged song. The kind of a track that you would love to hear while sitting all alone and pondering over something (maybe?)
The soft and melodious Ikk Kudi comes next, with Shahid Mallya taking over as the solo vocalist. Although the song is well sung, for us, it is the reprise version by Diljit Dosanjh (who also makes his debut in Bollywood with this film) that wins. Dosanjh' version is an excellent rendition; a breezy composition which sounds more soulful and emotional than the original one.
Ikk Kudi is followed by another energetic number. This time, we've got Amit Trivedi crooning Ud-daa Punjab with Vishal Dadlani. This one's got the dhol and tumbi (a traditional North-Indian instrument) dominating the composition, with Dadlani's rap verses that pack a punch. The lyrics by Varun Grover mirror a drug user's state of a mind in a more mordant manner. We love the crazy vibes of Ud-daa Punjab, and so will you.
Mallya is back as a solo vocalist in the melodious and well composed Hass nach le. Fans of Shahid Kapoor might get transported to a song titled "Ik tu hi" (remember the Hans Raj Hans version in Mausam?) with this one, especially in the first 1:30 mins of the track. At least, we did! Mallya effortlessly sings this one, especially the high notes. The dholki and harmonium artists do an excellent job. Perhaps the only number with a touch of romance, this one might just make it to your next Sangeet choreography list.
Finally, we come to the highlight of this album. If Chitta Ve gives you a high, Trivedi's Vadiyaan is all set to take you higher. Sounds straight off an EDM concert, this one. Everything about Vadiyaan is trippy and absolutely incredible, right from Trivedi's fine vocals to the composition and of course, Shellee's fabulous lyrics that explain a drug user's point of view perfectly. Vadiyaan is crazily trippy and we bet you can't stop hearing this one on repeat. Definitely my favourite from the Udta Punjab album!
Verdict: Insanely trippy and highly addictive! I gotta give it - ✮✮✮✮1/2

The Holiday Edit 2016 | Exploring The Best Boutique Hotels and Resorts in India
Who doesn’t love a chilled out holiday? Well, all of us do. Especially during the holiday season. Travel enthusiasts don’t need a reason anyway, as they are open to planning trips during anytime of the year. While luxury hotels, apartments or even a local stay usually tops a traveller’s list during the planning period (depending on one’s budget and preference), personally, we are huge fans of exquisite boutique hotels and resorts in India.
Every state, city and village in the country has so much to offer. Be it tourist attractions, culture, food and crafts; there is something unique that state has to offer. Similarly, boutique hotels in these states also have a USP ranging from breathtaking views to luxurious rooms and delicious food. In this feature, we round up a list of our favourite boutique hotels and resorts in India. Get set to pack your bags already, fellas!

Golkonda Resorts and Spa, Hyderabad
Housed in a princely guest house built in 1917 by the last Nizam of Hyderabad, the Golkonda Resorts and Spa offers luxurious facilities at a decent budget. Despite being in the heart of the financial centre and just a little off the expressway, one cannot escape the tranquil ambience of the resort. While Garden Villas come with balconies that provide a stunning view, our favourite has to be the spacious double storey Duplex Villa, that comes with a private lawn. Who else fancies a cuppa with your loved one, while watching the setting sun? For anyone whose middle name spells Luxury, go for the Pool Villa, that comes with an exclusive Pool and butler at your service all day. The resort also has an activity area, several dining options, and a spa - salon. Easily one of the best resorts in Hyderabad.

A secluded place of your own, complete with an infinity pool, spa, lounge and gym area and a restaurant by Cyrus Todiwala, that whips up lip smacking food.

Raas Haveli, Jodhpur
The perfect gateway for History Lovers. At Raas Haveli, Jodhpur’s first boutique hotel, the old world charm meets modern and contemporary times. The resort is housed in an 18th century Haveli, with three new additional buildings, where Jodhpur's red sand-stone unites the new with the old. The resort has 39 rooms, equipped with the best amenities, of which four are suites. What’s beautiful is the fact that almost every room in the hotel enjoys a spectacular view of the Mehrangarh Fort. The Watch Edit | There’s a Watch Made For Everyone
A few years back, while flipping through a magazine, I came across a quote which read, “Finding a great watch is like finding the perfect husband. Pick a great one and you are sure to keep it with yourself forever.” Well, I agree with every word said here. On most days, a watch is the only accessory that I swear by. I personally believe that the right watch can really make a difference to your overall look. I have a decent collection of watches which I wear everyday, including my go-to Swatch Irony, which compliments both formal and casual outfits very well.
We all know that the sale season is just around the corner. This time, instead of running around frantically to get a dress at 60% off (which I know you will, eventually), think about investing in a beautiful watch. If not for yourself, watches make for a great gift too. And for those who are not too keen on visiting a store, most well known e-commerce sites do have great deals on popular brands. Plus, the return policy process is quite smooth too. Online shopping in India for the win, baby!
For those girls who can’t make their mind over the endless number of styles, colours and variety, we have got a list of our favourite watches this season for fans, which is sure to sort out your dilemma. Well, there is a ‘watch’ made in heaven for everyone.
The ‘Sporty’ Girl
You clearly love big watches and that is not a lie. I am a self confessed Sporty Chic look fan and I can never stop collecting watches with big, fancy dials. Oh, and chronograph watches with sporty details are everything.
Our pick: Michael Kors Women's Bradshaw Gold-Tone Stainless Steel Watch
Bon Chic
Lovers of the good ol’ classic watch have tons of options to choose from. Be it a Swarovski Aila Day in Pink Leather Straps, a simple yet stunning Marc by Marc Jacobs Women's Baker Gold-Tone Stainless Steel Watch with Black Leather Band or the ultimate epitome of Luxury - a rose gold Cartier; take your pick and stay true to your classy style.
Our pick: Clé de Cartier Watch
Style Princess
You often make a statement in your gorgeous floral dress or the right pair of shoes. Someone who always manages to keep her best foot forward. You keep it minimal on the accessories front, letting your statement watch do all the talking. Let your watch collection grow by choosing from Chopard, Tag Heuer or Titan Raga’s latest collections.
Our pick: Chopard Happy Sport 30mm automatic Rose Gold watch
The Tech Geek
For those who are always on the go. Those who love a slice of tech in everything and anything. The market is filled with smart watches in almost every colour and size. Right from tracking your fitness activities for the day to changing wallpapers and of course, checking the time, the smart watch is your one stop-shop for everything.
Our pick: Apple Watch Sport 38mm Rose Gold Aluminium Case with Lavender Sport Band

Nivea Protect and Care Range | Review
We love the signature fragrance of Nivea creme. The delightful, distinctive fragrance of the rich and creamy product has been an important part of our lives since childhood. No winter was complete without lathering up on some of that creme. And it gave our face, elbows, feet some much needed pampering after a long day out. Fortunately for us, the brand recently launched an all new range with the fragrance of NIVEA Creme. It includes a deodorant and roll-on, packed in the signature blue colour that the brand is known for. Read on to know our take on this range.
What? - Nivea Protect & Care Range (Deodorant and Roll-on)
Price - Rs 199 (Deo) and Rs 185 (roll-on)
Quantity - 150ml (Deo) and 50ml (roll-on)
What they promise? - Nivea protect & care is the only deodorant / roll on with precious ingredients and fragrance of Nivea creme. It protects against body odour and cares for your delicate underarm skin. The product contains 0% alcohol and can be used directly after shaving.
Our experience - The new range by Nivea falls under the extra care product category, where gentle care of the underarm skin has been given prime importance. During the trial period, we used the deodorant and roll-on alternatively. While the signature Nivea fragrance lingers on for sometime and adds a sense of freshness, the products suffer a major setback in sweat resistance. When compared to their other deodorants / roll-ons like Fresh Natural, the protect & care range is not what you would want to pick on a hot afternoon, especially in Mumbai. But, it did leave the underarm skin feeling fresh and smooth, just like one would after applying the Nivea cream (minus the greasiness). The subtle Nivea creme fragrance stays on for a good 4-5 hours. In addition, we also like how it does not irritate the skin, especially after a waxing / shaving session. This is definitely the product's biggest pro! Packaging wise, it is similar to all the other deodorants and roll-ons by the brand (deodrant can and glass roll-on bottle respectively) and we love how their colour matches the big blue Nivea creme jar. The pricing is decent.
Final Verdict: The perfect pick for those with sensitive skin. Nivea's protect & care range is a must buy if you love the signature Nivea creme fragrance. Also, if you underarm skin needs some gentle care. A good buy for the upcoming Monsoons. But if sweat resistance is what you have been looking for, give it a skip and opt for the Fresh natural range.

Water For All
#WaterForAll | Save Water, Act Now!
Recently, I was browsing through a few articles, when I came across a report that read - Only 1% water left in Marathwada (a region in Maharashtra). In addition, the MET department also announced a red alert in Marathwada. More than 9 million farmers in Maharashtra alone have been impacted, with 3,225 turning to suicide as their only way to escape this daily ordeal and stress. Around 17,000 villages continue to suffer. For someone who has always tried to save water in every possible way, these reports and statistics leave me speechless.
We all know how the drought and water crisis has engulfed major parts of the country, especially Maharashtra since a few years. Things in 2016 only turned worse, thanks to very little rainfall in the year gone by. So much, that women in some households were forced to collect all the used water (from basic routines like washing and bathing) and boil it in order to quench their family's thirst. I recently got back from a trip across some parts of Maharashtra and the situation was indeed very grim. Lakes, crops and trees were dried up, minimal water left in wells, and the locals would like at a bottle of water with eyes full of hope. They don't need money, gadgets or luxury. All they ask for is what qualifies as a human being's basic need - Water. You need to see the thirst and need for water in the eyes of those who don't have water. Perhaps, only then will you relate to those who are facing this serious crisis in our state and other parts of the country.
These are just a few of the many steps that we can take to save water. Also, one very important thing. This shouldn't apply to us only when we see / read about a serious issue of scarcity. Nor should it become a one-off thing only when festivals like Holi are celebrated. It should naturally become a part of our daily routine. And no, don't try to do it merely for an Instagram photo-op.
Last night, I strongly felt the need to write this post, thus opening a discussion on the issue of water crisis and ways to save it, hoping that this might wake up a few ignorant minds. Saving water is not rocket science, really. All it needs is a little bit of common sense and some basic changes to your everyday routine. I never celebrated Holi with colours and water. Not even as a child. Similarly, I switched to bucket bath and ditched the shower. I feel blessed to have parents who inculcated the right values and lessons, especially when it comes to taking care of nature and mother earth. I brought about various changes in my routine that might just be a small drop in the ocean. I am not saying I am perfect and I continue to make alterations. But hey, every drop counts and like they say, change begins at home. Some may say, ditching Holi celebrations is not our cup of tea. Fair enough! But, what is stopping you from adopting other measures?
![]() |

This post is more than just a lifestyle article on our blog. It is an honest appeal to all of you. We request you to bring about these changes, even if it is one step at a time. If we talk about equality, then let's try and make water available to one and all. Water is precious, and every drop counts. Let's not wait for a disastrous day when water becomes a luxury (which for some, it already is, thanks to water tankers and packaged drinking water). A simple 'change' in your lifestyle can help 'change' someone's life. This one important step can help save Maharashtra from losing its beloved citizens to suicides and future misery. Think about it!
If you have a suggestion / tip to save water efficiently, we want you to share it with the world. Leave a comment below or Tweet to us at @priyaadivarekar with the hashtag #WaterForAll
We will compile and share all the useful tips (with due credits to the contributor) in our next post.
Let's make this world a better place to live in.

Sonam Kapoor | Bollywood at Festival de Cannes 2016
Festival de Cannes is all about the best of cinema from across the globe. But while cinemaphiles cannot get enough of the on-screen action, fashion lovers wait with bated breath to see the who's who of World cinema don their best outfits. The red carpet at Cannes is a much talked about affair every year. We kickstart our new Bollywood at Festival de Cannes 2016 series by talking about a diva, who won more than a million hearts with her sartorial choices, both on and off the red carpet. Yes, we are talking about Sonam Kapoor, who is representing the make up brand L'Oreal Paris at the festival. Her regular updates on social media have sent Sona's fans into a tizzy. From one stunning look to another, here's how our Kapoor diva rocked her red carpet looks at the Cannes.
Where? - Festival de Cannes Press Interviews
Wearing - Rimzim Dadu
What we think? - We love the easy breezy blue on Sonam, as she effortlessly carried this Rimzim Dadu number on a sunny day under the clear skies. Blue is one of our favourite picks for this season and with this futuristic saree in shades of blue and black, Sonam got it right! We like how Namrata Soni opted for subtle shades of blue on the eye and a hint of pink on the lips, keeping the overall look very easy going.
Where? - Press Interviews (Day 2)
Wearing: Ralph & Russo
What we think? - One of our personal favourite looks from her off-red carpet moments, Rhea picked this gorgeous Ralph & Russo number for Sonam on a day filled with press interactions. Since it was a day event, her hair was neatly tied into a chic updo and the make up was kept simple. We loved the addition of Christian Louboutin heels and trend cat eye sunglasses (not in picture). Perfect for a day out!
What? - Festival De Cannes red carpet - Mal de pierres screening
Wearing - Ralph & Russo
What we think? - Definitely one of our favourite picks at the Cannes red carpet this year, Sonam simply spelled W.O.W in a stunning custom made Ralph & Russo couture outfit. Heads turned as the actress walked the red carpet, leaving everyone wanting more. The fine detailing on this silk crepe dress, with embroidered silver thread work, silver bullion, beads and crystals stood out among several other outfits. While Namrata opted for nude lips, the eye makeup was where all the action was, as her heavily kohled eyes were well accentuated with highlights created with a white pencil / kajal. Overall, this look was a complete winner!
Where? - Festival de Cannes red carpet
Wearing - Ralph & Russo
What we think? - Sonam went the Ralph & Russo way once again, this time in a champagne hued gown with a dramatic silk floral organza cape. What we loved about this look was the way Namrata added a classic touch to Sonam's look with a neatly tied bun. Make up was all about hues of pink and nude, keeping it subtle. But of course, it was the custom made gown that won all the applause, which was paired with some gorgeous bling and a pair of Ferragamos.
Where? - Chopard Party
Wearing - Ralph & Russo and Chopard
What we think? - Ah! That's how you nail the classic all black look. We couldn't take our eyes off Sonam in this sheer black Ralph & Russo number (must say, the Kapoor - Ralph & Russo affair continued successfully throughout the festival and the result - some jaw dropping, stunning looks). Sonam looked every inch a diva in the custom made ball gown. The lace gloves and studded Chopard neckpiece added some extra charm to this vintage glam look. While once again, the overall make up was kept simple, bold red lips and sharp eyebrows added some much needed drama. Sonam surely took our breath away in this fantastic look!

13 Years of Shahid Kapoor | 5 Favorite Performances
OMG! Look who has completed 13 years in the industry. It was this day, back in 2003, that we saw Shahid Kapoor make a dhamakedaar debut in Ishq Vishk. Since then, the actor has never looked back. For someone who entered the Indian Film Industry at an early age, Shahid has experimented with a variety of different genres, worked with some of the finest directors, production houses and the best female actors. Apart from films, the actor has time and again proved his incredible dancing and hosting skills at various award functions.
The result? Millions of fans (8.3M on Twitter alone, to be precise) across the globe and multiple fan-bases worldwide, where members keep increasing at the speed of lightening. And those moves! Gosh, how can anyone not love the way he dances? So, picking a few favourites from 24 unique films is no mean feat, especially if you are someone who has seen all of them on repeat. But still, we present to you our favorite Shahid Kapoor performances.
Haider
Let's start off with the film that enjoyed a successful award spell last year! Shahid's impeccable performance as Haider Meer in this film made sure that leaves the theatre min blown, including me. Hamlet aka Haider was a challenge that Shahid accepted with great confidence and his dedication was hard to miss. He got into the skin of his character with great ease, connected with the audience through an array of emotions, gave the film his all and ultimately, proved that his acting prowess is unmatched. Critics, take that!
Jab We Met
We all love Jab We Met, don't we? And we can't help but fall in love with Shahid Kapoor memorable portrayal of the adorable Aditya Kashyap. Like imagine, The Aditya Kashyap, the guy who falls head over heels in love with the jhalli Geet, and goes all the way till Shimla and Manali looking for her. Shahid breathed life into Aditya (India's answer to Mr.Darcy) with his calm and natural performance. The way Shahid essayed Aditya's character with perfect style and charisma is a good example of how even the most simplest of characters can stay with you for good.
Kaminey
![]() |
| Image courtesy: Yasa Mirlo on Tumblr |
Usne F ko F bola, and that was enough for the entire nation to stand up and take notice of him. It was amazing to see Shahid's successful transition from a lover struck boy in Kismat Konnection to playing complex characters in the following year. He took things a notch above by shedding his boy next door for a more rugged, tapori avatar in Vishal Bhardwaj's Kaminey. It made for a visual treat, the kind of cinema that you wouldn't mind watching back-to-back in a cinema hall. The film presented a never before seen side of the actor. In this sinister plot, with the perfect mix of violence and dark humour, Shahid played the role of twins with speech defects and boy, he sure did a fantastic job!
Vivah
The film did great business at the box office, and it further established Shahid as not just the fun-loving college going boy, but also someone who can play the part of a mature, supportive lover with ease. This film was a high point in Shahid's third year as an actor, as the film earned him a lot of accolades and acclaim. Plus, he played the epitome of love in Sooraj Barjatya films - Prem, quite convincingly. With the perfect blend of emotions, subtle charm and that adorable look, we surely enjoyed watching Shahid in Vivah.
R... Rajkumar
Shahid teaming up with Prabhu Dheva was enough to get us jumping with joy. While most critics may differ with our opinion (I don't know why), R... Rajkumar was one of Shahid's exceptional performances. He was everything that a massy hero of a masala film would require. Action, drama, dance aur emotion; you name it and Shahid nailed them all. The actor confessed that it was quite a task to step into the shoes of a masala action hero, especially with all those moves that Prabhu sir made him do, but we couldn't have had it any other way. Nobody can do a Gandi Baat or Saree ke fall sa like Shahid can. Also, Silent ho ja, varna main violent ho jaunga is one cool dialogue.
Ahem!
So, while I am done with that tough task of putting together a top 5 list (in random order), I would like to add one more film. Although it went largely unnoticed (unfortunately), I really thought Shahid's performance as the ambitious Karan in Badmaash Company made quite an impact.
We can't wait to watch Shahid create magic with two completely different characters - that of a rockstar and a war soldier in his upcoming films, Udta Punjab and Rangoon. We have been trippin' on Chitta Ve already. What about you?
Got a favorite Shahid Kapoor film or want to wish the actor on completing 13 years in the industry?

Fun Never Ends Here | Imagica Theme Park
For students, the start of summer would mean end of exams and a good break from early morning lectures, making notes and running around the college for other activities. Anyone would agree that summer holidays were also the best part of childhood. You could play for hours without worrying about homework, plan vacations with your family and simply relax. I am quite sure many of you have already planned their Summer getaway, or perhaps, just got back from one. But, if you are one of those who does not have the privilege to enjoy a long week off or haven't planned anything yet, Imagica is just the place for you! The fact that it is just 70kms away from Mumbai makes things all the more easy and convenient.
This one amazing place where fun begins and never ends. In fact, you will never have enough of all the rides and interesting activities at the beautiful Imagica theme park. Just off the Mumbai-Pune expressway (near Khopoli), Imagica is one of the best amusement and adventure theme parks in Maharashtra. With a variety of fun rides and attractions dedicated to different age groups, this place has something for everyone. I took a day off and visited Imagica to soak in the sunshine and enjoy their amazing attractions. Right from the stunning sights of India in I for India to re-living the popular Anil Kapoor starrer Mr India in an animated motion simulation form, riding through the eerie corridors of Salimgarh to experiencing the fury of deities in Wrath of the Gods; you get an opportunity to witness state-of-the-art technology, that is at par with International amusement parks. Though, you need to be alert and make a note of their show timings, otherwise you might end up missing some of these attractions (like we did). I still regret missing Alibaba aur Chalis Chor.

Among the thrill-filled rides, our team had a blast going cray in Nitro - one of Imagica's star attractions. While I gave Nitro a miss, I challenged myself to take up Dare 2 Drop, where you shoot to the sky and drop to the ground with force. For someone scared of heights, this was quite an achievement for me (and great fun too). You can clearly see my reaction, when the ride took its first drop. I kept moving my hand to calm down and closed my eyes during the first drop. It looked like I have invited unnecessary trouble, but the moment this ride got over, I realised it was all worth it.
The attractions at Imagica are divided country wise. So, the surroundings, attractions and even restaurants are designed accordingly. Don't miss the Scream Machine, a gigantic rotating pendulum ride, which is certainly not for the faint hearted.

They have also got some really adorable rides for kiddies, and guess what? Some of them actually allow adults to sit along with their kids. It was cute to see parents enjoying Tubby Takes Off (a merry-go-round kind of ride) with their toddlers. But our favourite has to be the great variety of family / group rides. Summer holidays are the perfect time for families to bond and have a great time together. The same goes for a group of friends or colleagues. Rides like Rajasaurus and Bump It Boats are cooler when you enjoy it together. Great time to bond and chill in this heat. A special mention for the attendants at all the rides, who ensure everything is safe and secure before you enjoy the ride. Even the in-park security is top notch. The park guides are also very helpful. For the foodies, Imagica has ample of options ranging from diners, authentic indian restaurants, pirate styled café and more. What I really loved was the fact that water stations were available at considerable distance. You didn't have to check the map or go hunting for them. Also, it great to see multiple ice cream stands. What better than a good family ride and some ice cream to beat the heat?
Our only concern were the limited number of rest rooms. We noticed how a few adults and kids ended up feeling nauseous after some rides (which is normal for some, especially in roller coasters). For a theme park which is so well maintained and clean, an individual may feel guilty and embarrassed to simply puke anywhere. So, increasing the number of washrooms near the attractions will help.
With several rides dedicated to every age group, exclusive never before seen attractions, tons of food options and a huge space to hang around, relax and enjoy; Imagica makes for the perfect family holiday destination. Plus, it's proximity to the island city and Pune (read: easy travel, thanks to multiple modes of transport), makes it a convenient option, even if you plan a last minute getaway. Currently, they have got a special Magic show and the newly opened Snow Park up and running. Head to Imagica's official website for more details on pricing and grab some fab discounts while pre-booking your holiday. Clearly, as their new tagline says - Yeh Badi Interesting Jagah Hain.
