Five Staycations in Mumbai for the Perfect Getaway | The New Normal Holiday
With the ongoing pandemic and restrictions, several travel enthusiasts have had to cancel or postpone their trips this year. Some chose to push it to 2021, while others canceled it altogether. WFH has become the norm, with most of us spending hours behind the screen. With travel restrictions and guidelines imposed, it won't be possible to visit your favourite destination so soon. However, with Unlock 4 and 5 guidelines in place and certain restrictions being lifted up (with due precautionary measures, of course), a staycation in your city can be your best bet for a quick escape, while spending quality time with your loved ones. With the long weekend approaching, we list down five staycations in Mumbai that we absolutely loved:
Sofitel (Bandra Kurla Complex)
Looking for the perfect staycation, right in the heart of Mumbai? Sofitel (BKC) might just be the right option for you. The rooms are luxurious, and have been done up tastefully, with the fine detailing of French art de vivre. The staycation package comes with a luxury room booking, along with a lavish breakfast from Pondicherry Cafe, check-in and check-out benefits (early/late), and complimentary wi-fi access among others.

The St. Regis - one of Mumbai's tallest buildings, comes with accommodation that offers an unmatched view of the maximum city. We love the elegant decor, which is sophisticated, traditional, and does not compromise on comfort. A key USP at this property is the F&B. We absolutely love the spread and wide variety. Spread across 12 acres of greenery and situated close to the Western Express Highway; Grand Hyatt is a beautiful and serene property, which is perfect for a weekend getaway within the city. Their staycation packages are perfect for solo, couples and even families. We recommend their 'Unwind and Dine' staycation package, which comes with various room options (with the choice of king, queen or twin beds). The package includes a scrumptious breakfast, F&B credit, check-in/check-out (early, late) benefits among others.

A few things to remember, before you book your staycation - most properties have stringent rules in place, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Certain public areas like Swimming Pool, Gyms, Buffets may not be available. Hence, it is advisable to check with the property before getting your reservations done. Also, please remember - responsibility begins with you. So, please take all necessary precautions, including wearing a mask, carrying your safety kit (sanitiser, spray) and plan your trip, only if you have duly tested yourself and / or are fit to travel.

Travel | Countries where Indians can travel - All you need to know about Air Bubbles, Travel Restrictions and Relaxations
Most of us have been patiently waiting to get back to traveling (albeit, with strict precautions). However, looking at the current scenario, we can confirm that restrictions would be relaxed in an organised, phase-wise manner. The civil aviation ministry has entered into air bubbles with 14 countries, where Indian citizens can fly. Currently, talks are also on with several other countries, in order to facilitate two-way international travel. However, currently there are some countries where Indians are not allowed to fly, which means that no air bubble can be set up with these countries as of now.
So, what exactly does one mean by 'Air Bubbles'?: Air bubbles are temporary arrangements between two countries, which are aimed at re-starting commercial passenger service, at a time when regular international flights across the world are suspended. As we all know, International flights were suspended in March, as almost all countries had imposed a strict lockdown, in order to combat the spread of Covid-19. Repatriation flights resumed in May, but these flights are different from air bubble flights as repatriation flights can’t carry passengers both ways.
So, which countries can Indians not travel to (as of now) and why?: As several countries are opening international travel gradually, governments are in the process of identifying high-risk and safe countries.
- The European Union didn’t identify India as a safe country. However, India does have air bubble with Germany and France.
- South Africa: South Africa will resume international travels from October 1. However, it is likely that the government will not allow Indians to travel to the country.
- Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia has barred all flights to and from India in its effort to keep a check on the Covid-19 situation in their own country.
- Hong Kong: Earlier this month, Hong Kong placed a bar on Air India flights, blaming Indian travellers for an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in Hong Kong. However, we hear the bar will be lifted soon. Also, just FYI - there are other airlines operating to Hong Kong.
So, which destinations can Indians fly to?
The 14 countries where Indian citizens can fly to include: Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bhutan, Canada, France, Germany, Iraq, Japan, Maldives, Nigeria, Qatar, the UAE, the UK, and the US.
Current relaxations for domestic air travel: The government is gradually lifting certain restrictions such as relaxing the cap on number of flights from 45 per cent of pre-Covid number to 60 per cent. In addition, on-board meal services have been allowed on domestic sectors. From among the latest developments, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has allowed airlines to decide the baggage rules.
We highly urge all travellers to ensure they step out only in case of an emergency or urgent travel requirement. Ensure you take all necessary precautions and follow all strict hygiene measures.

Stay by the Baga Riverside on your next trip to Goa | The Acron Waterfront Experience
Property: Acron Waterfront Resort, Goa
Location: Seaward side of the Baga Bridge (North Goa)
Property Overview: Airy, spacious and packed with tons of positive vibes; the boutique property houses 47 beautiful rooms, which are carefully designed and have great attention to detail, and are packed with all modern amenities. I mean, imagine lazing around in bed and still being able to catch the most breathtaking view of the river side! The rooms have enough space for families, groups to unwind, move around and chill at leisure, which is a huge plus, considering many hotels tend to offer tiny rooms. So, while you enjoy walking around the property, you equally adore the time spent relaxing around in the room and balcony area. The property also has a boardroom (perfect for MICE), apart from a gym and spa. Fitness enthusiasts, you need not take a break from your routine!
Take your pick from the Seaside Rooms, Riverside Rooms (highly recommended) or the Courtyard Room. Large groups and families can also opt for the Courtyard Suites or Penthouse Suites - which are basically 3 bedroom apartments that come with a peaceful garden setting. For our stay, we were picked the 'Riverside Room' - which offers a majestic view of the Baga river, part of the Beach area and is surrounded by serenity. The sunrise and sunset views are simply incredible!
Stunning Views - If you aren't looking at being touristy and would prefer a more relaxing time within the property itself, then look no further. From a stunning infinity pool to a temperature controlled Jacuzzi and a river deck that offers an unmatched view of the riverfront; there is a lot to choose from. We spent hours lazing by the poolside, listening to music and enjoying good conversations. The lounge area by the poolside is the perfect spot to soak in some sunshine, and unwind with your loved ones. Taking a dip in the infinity pool was easily our favourite activity during the stay. Personally, this is my favourite part of the property. Acron Waterfront Resort has one of the best pools in Goa, that faces the Baga river and offers a scenic view of the entire riverside and the beach. Our evenings were spent taking a dip, while enjoying the sunset and some beautiful conversations!

5 Reasons to Stay at Acron Waterfront Resort during your next Getaway in Goa | Dancebee Travels
Spacious, Comfortable Rooms
Tiny rooms with minimum space for movement? A big no for any relaxing holiday, especially those with friends and / or family. We all look forward to spending quality time with our loved ones, while chit-chatting, playing board games or just enjoying a discussion post late night dinner. And if your property offers a spacious room, along with lots of space to sit, move around and literally - feel just like home, then you know you've made the right choice. Our stay at Acron Waterfront Resort felt just like that! Each of the 47 rooms (including the newly added suites) were incredibly spacious and offered breathtaking views from the private balcony. Complete with modern amenities and plenty of space; we fell in love with our Seaside Room, the moment we walked in!
Sense of Tranquility
Every individual has their own reasons to pick a specific property during their stay. What if I told you this boutique resort has something to cater to everyone; while maintaining one integral USP - Tranquility - all around the property. Many people love their bit of fun and madness, but there are many (like me), who like to unwind at peace. We all look forward to some calm moments, especially since we live supremely hectic lifestyles. Lazy early morning walks, amidst the calm environment of the courtyard, was an absolute favourite! Despite being nestled in the middle of a bustling beach area, one can experience pure calmness and bliss.
The perfect way to end a long day of touristy views - a quiet candle lit dinner by the riverside. And of course, how can anyone resist kickstarting their day with a powerful breakfast, and that view? The River Restaurant is their in-house dining space. It offers a delicious breakfast spread and all day dining for non-staying guests as well. While the restaurant is well known for dishing out some unique fusion of Goan delicacies, we also liked their spin on simple, everyday breakfast items. The breakkie spread was delish, to say the least! Our favourite pick - Puri Bhaji. The item can be ordered during breakfast hours, and trust me - the crispy, piping hot puris and scrumptious bhaji (we sampled tomato-potato and chole on different days) was simply yum! Oh, and we also got the chance to cook up some delicious Goan lunch favourites, thanks to a masterclass by Chef George (which can be arranged at the restaurant for you as well). More on that very soon on our Instagram.
Infinity Pool
Unmatched Views
Baga Beach on one side, buzzing Baga Bridge on the other and of course, a breathtaking view of the Baga River - right in front of your property. We spent several hours taking in the natural light and views from our sea side room, which had the perfect view of the river meets Arabian sea confluence. Waking up to soft breeze, the sound of waves and birds chirping all around; while enjoying a morning cuppa in our spacious balcony, became a daily ritual, that we just couldn't get enough of. Of course, visiting the property during monsoon and winter has it's own perks (read: spending time by the poolside on chilly winter evenings with bae or enjoying some rain dance with your family in the open courtyard of the property - pick your favourite).
Well, we have given you enough reasons to book your next stay in North Goa at the Acron Waterfront Resort. They have got some exciting offers all year long, so don't forget to keep an eye out on their official website! And, do stay tuned for some more interesting stories related to our recent stay.
