The Body Shop Tea Tree Review
The Body Shop Tea Tree Range - Review
For someone with acne / blemish prone, the popular Tea Tree Oil by The Body Shop has been a must have. It's been a part of my skincare regimen since the longest time, and I have been mighty impressed with it's result so far. Recently, the brand launched some new products under this highly popular range. We were introduced to some of them and post a month long trial, the verdict is out! Have they managed to impress us again? Read on to find out.
What? - The Body Shop Tea Tree range
Products reviewed: The Body Shop 3-in-1 Wash.Scrub.Mask
The Body Shop Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution
Price: Rs 1295 and Rs 1595 respectively
Quantity: 125ml and 50 ml respectively
Skin Type: All (specifically blemish prone / oily skin)
Product: The Body Shop 3-in-1 Wash.Scrub.Mask
What does the product promise? - A 3-in-1 product which can be used as a wash, a scrub or a mask to combat blemishes and excess oil. When used as a wash, the foaming clay removes impurities and excess oil. As a scrub, the exfoliants unclog pores, smooth skin’s surface and reduce the appearance of blackheads. When applied as a mask, the drying clay reduces blackheads and shine, deeply cleanses, mattifies and tightens pores.
How to use? - As a face wash: Wet face and apply a small amount on your face, massaging the product in circular motions until the mud foams. Rinse off. Can be used daily.
As a scrub: Massage gently onto damp skin in circular motions (with special focus on the T-zone). Add more water until the mud foams, then rinse off. Can be used 2-3 times per week.
As a mask: Apply thin layer to dry face, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 5-10 minutes. Then add water until the mud foams, and rinse off. Can be used 1-2 times per week.
Packaging: The product comes in a sturdy plastic tube, which is dark green (matching the tea tree range). The tube comes with a flip top, which helps dispense the product easily. Easy to carry, does not spill and is also travel friendly. Plus, for a 3-in-1 product like this, the flip top also helps maintain hygiene.
Texture: Creamy and slightly grainy. The texture of this 3-in-1 product is slightly creamier than most scrubs available in the market. When used as a mask, it spreads very well (you can use a face mask brush for best results). As a face wash, it lathers up and cleanses your face gently, while as a scrub, the product does a great job of exfoliation. The exfoliants are not very harsh and this product has a nice, subtle tea tree fragrance.
Product: The Body Shop Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution
What does the product promise? - A lightweight, pre-serum concentrate that combats blemishes and improves the overall condition of skin. After 4 weeks, skin looks and feels purified, clearer, smoother and healthier. It also helps reduce redness and imperfections.
How to use? - Gentle enough to use daily as part of your morning routine. After cleansing, toning and preparing skin with an essence lotion, apply all over the face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Follow with an eye cream and moisturiser. For oily skin, can be used in place of the 'serum' stage of a skincare regimen.
Packaging: The product comes in a glass bottle, like most other popular serums and facial oils by The Body Shop. Keeping up with the colour theme of this range, the serum is housed in a dark green glass bottle, and comes with a dropper, which is a plus. Droppers are easy to use and helps dispense just the right amount of product.
Texture: The solution is transparent and extremely light. If not for the strong tea tree fragrance, you could almost pass it off as a drop of water, except that the product is not that runny. It's a light weight serum that absorbs quickly. The texture is almost similar to another popular product from this range, namely the Tea Tree Oil.
Overall Experience: I've been using the Tea Tree Oil and the Tea Tree Night Lotion since quite sometime. So, when the brand re-launched a few products with new packaging, along with new products in this range, we were more than happy to test it. So, I added the Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution and the 3-in-1 Wash.Scrub.Mask to my daily regimen. While the serum was used as part of my morning routine (followed by the everyday moisturiser that I use), the face wash was paired with the night lotion and tea tree oil that I already have, as part of the night routine. Since I don't use a scrub, I tested the 3-in-1 product as a mask once a week. Now, a lot of people often confuse acne with blemishes. There are not the same. Firstly, acne is characterised by a host of different issues, which includes pimples, blackheads and white heads. Whereas a blemish is the condition where your skin is de-colorised or darkened. But yes, acne and blemishes are connected by the fact that blemishes are commonly occur on acne prone skin, and is mostly the result of a post-pimple damage. Most products in this range focus on blemishes and overtime, do a fine job of clearing your skin off those pesky marks.
The 3-in-1 product keeps your skin feeling squeaky clean and fresh. As a mask, it does help you get rid of blackheads quite effectively. Personally, i've always been a fan of the Tea Tree Oil, which works wonders a targeted care treatment product and is a must have for anyone with acne. As for the serum, it leaves your skin feeling mattified, fresh and healthy, though it is absolutely important to follow up with a hydrating moisturiser. The serum does a good job of leaving your skin feeling clear and healthy over time (give it at least a month to show some results). Though I must add, the real test of this range, especially for those with dry skin (like me) shall begin now, as winters approach. However, the range pretty much lives up to all the expectations and does a good job (along with supporting the cause of sustainable growth of the Kenyan Organic Oil). Especially the 3-in-1 wash.scrub.mask, which is a travel must have for us now.
Pros: Great packaging (3-in1 product)
Subtle fragrance
Lives up to most promises
Leaves your skin feeling fresh and healthy
Well priced
Not tested on animals
Supports a good cause
Cons: Glass bottle (serum) is not travel friendly
Verdict: If you have blemish prone skin, then don't think twice. Add these products to your daily skin care routine and you are sure to see the difference! Definitely a thumbs up from us.

The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream Review
The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream | Review
Last month, during my quest to find the perfect night cream, I was introduced to the newly launched Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream by The Body Shop. If you remember, a volunteer close to our team had reviewed the amazing facial oil from Oils of Life range last year, and was highly impressed with the results. Naturally, we were quite excited to test this new launch. With winter coming up, all of us (especially those with dry skin) can do with a hydrating night cream, that can leave your skin feeling supple and well moisturised the next day. We kickstarted our test period with high expectations. Read on to know how this product fared.
What? - The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream
Quantity - 80ml Price: Rs 2495
What does it promise? - A night cream that moisturises, revitalises and nourishes your skin while you sleep. Reducing the signs of ageing, you'll look visibly more rested with a supple and rejuvenated complexion. Combining 3 precious cold-pressed seed oils known for their healing properties and 7 powerful essential oils, this cushiony cream is a potent source of nutrients for your skin while you slumber. Your skin will have new vitality and life with this nourishing lotion.
Main Ingredients: Black Cumin seed oil from Egypt, Camellia seed oil from China and Rosehip seed oil from Chile – with a powerful blend of essential oils.
How to use? - Apply every evening after your facial oil or serum to revitalise your skin night after night. Massage gently onto your face, then neck and décolleté in an upward motion. Leave overnight.
Fragrance: A lot like the Oils of Life facial oil, thanks to the ingredients, of course. The essential oils create a wonderful blend. The fragrance is not very strong, but aromatic enough to put you off to sleep like a baby. Black cumin and Rosehip seed oil notes stand out.
Packaging: Very classy. The cream comes in a glass jar, which has a plastic lid in between to prevent the product from spilling. The jar can get a little heavy to carry around, so it is best suggested that you transfer the cream to a smaller jar while traveling.
Texture: Rich, smooth and silky; the texture of this sleeping cream is one of the best I have come across so far. It does not leave any grime or shine on your face, and absorbs quickly.
Experience: Very few products manage to suit my skin type and exceed expectations. But, this amazing sleeping cream by The Body Shop has fast become a favourite already. During the trial (for almost a month), our night skincare routine started off with cleansing, followed by using Oils of Life facial oil and post a five minute break, gently massaging the Oils of Life sleeping cream. You don't require too much of the product, which means the jar shall last you for a good 6 - 8 months (depending on usage). Despite the supremely rich and creamy texture, the product absorbs very well within 10 - 15 minutes and leaves a nice, subtle glow. We think the cream is perfect for individuals with both normal to dry and normal to oily skin type. It does the job of hydrating, repairing and replenishing your skin from within overnight. The next morning, you do wake up with supple skin. Your skin feels moisturised and soft, while fragrance of this cream continues to linger. Over time, you do feel the difference in your skin, as it feels replenished and less dehydrated. While we don't know about it's anti-ageing properties, it performs all the other tasks quite well. Clearly, this product meets all the promises made by the brand and of course, our expectations too. Since it's fall and winter is just around the corner, we suggest you stock up on this cream and add it to your daily night skincare routine already. Time to bid dry skin patches and same old night creams adieu. This cream is worth all your money!
Pros: Rich texture
Excellent hydrating and moisturising properties
Classy packaging
Absorbs well
Suitable for all skin types
Supports a cause
Not tested on animals
Cons: The jar is not travel friendly
Verdict: Highly recommended! It is definitely turning out to be one of our favourite products this year. Worth the price, and comes with a good shelf life. Go, buy it!

The Body Shop Drops of Light Serum
The Body Shop Drops of Light Serum Review
The Body Shop Drops of Light Serum | Review
The market is filled with skin care products that promise skin brightening. While we prefer running away from any product that unnecessarily promotes 'fairness' and forces people to dream of changing their complexion overnight (can't we just be happy with what we've got?), we are fans of products that hydrate and nourish. Stuff that can take care of our skin from within, and prevent it from further damage. The Body Shop's latest offering - Drops of Light, is just that! We were recently introduced to the Pure and Healthy serum from this range. After trying out the product for a month, here's what we think about it!
What? - The Body Shop Drops of Light Serum
Quantity - 30ml
Price - 2450 INR
What does it promise? - A very lightweight serum that absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving it velvety soft and shine free. Clinically proven to reduce the number and intensity of dark spots.
How to use? - Apply 2 to 3 drops onto the face and neck and gently massage into skin every morning and evening before applying a cream
Main Ingredients - Brightening red algae extract and Vitamin C derivative
Packaging - The serum comes in a beautiful 30ml glass bottle, similar to their Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil. This too comes with a tightly fitted cap, that has a dropper to dispense the product. Only difference here is the colour. The Drops of Life serum is housed in an elegant all white bottle. It is easy to carry and does not spill. Since it is a glass bottle, you need to take good care while traveling.
Fragrance - Light and refreshing. The fragrance is not very strong, but is good enough to lift your spirits and keep you feeling fresh.
Texture: Extremely soft and smooth. The serum is not too thick or runny. It perfectly absorbs into your skin and feel super light weight. The moment you massage the serum on your face, you can feel the velvety soft texture of the product. Zero greasiness, so those with oily skin need not fret. The serum provides good hydration for people with dry skin. The soft texture does not irritate, and is good for those with sensitive skin.
Experience: The Body Shop Drops of Light is a great light-weight serum, that can be worn under a moisturiser as well as make up, without making you worry about any heavy residue. We tried using it every morning and night, after cleansing, and followed it up with a hydrating moisturiser. The weather hasn't been too kind, especially on our skin and hair. Thankfully, this serum did a good job of hydrating our facial skin well. Post application, it leaves the skin feeling velvety smooth. We also tried using it without a moisturiser and still, the results were great. For a shoot, the product was tried on before make up and it helped add a dewy glow, which looked lovely. Even otherwise, the product does do a good job at maintaining your natural complexion well and adds a subtle glow which looks great. While it also promises to reduce dark spots, we think we should give the product some more time to work its wonders in that department. Like we always believe, Rome wasn't built in a day. So, how can we force any product to deliver results (on damages done over time) in just a month? Overall, we are quite happy with our experience and the serum has definitely made its way into our list of favourite skin care products of 2016 (so far).
Pros:
Perfect texture
Pretty packaging
Affordable for the price, quantity, quality and shelf life
Does not irritate the skin
Great to wear under make up
Tight fitted cap with dropper, which is convenient and hygienic
Cons:
Glass bottle needs to be handled with care
Verdict: The Body Shop has certainly scored high with their latest offering. If you have been looking for a serum that is soft, light, absorbs well and does not burn a hole in your pocket, go buy the Drops of Light serum and you won't be disappointed.

The Body Shop British Rose Review
Pick of the Month | The Body Shop British Rose Review
Who doesn't love smelling like a bunch of fresh flowers and enjoying supple skin all day long? Well, we sure do and when the folks at The Body Shop introduced us to their new range - British Rose about a month back, we were both super happy and a little skeptical. Happy, because the packaging took our breath away, and skeptical because our past experiences with products that contain Rose as the main ingredient wasn't very memorable. Fortunately for us, the British Rose range was nothing like the stuff that made us cringe at the whiff of a strong rosy fragrance (remember, the kind of products that make you feel like you've bathed in rose attar). On the contrary, The Body Shop has got a luxurious and sinful collection in the form of British Rose, which is perfect to indulge in on a sultry afternoon. Read on to know more.
What? - The Body Shop British Rose Range
Products Reviewed: British Rose Body Scrub, British Rose Body Butter
Price: Rs 1295 and Rs 1095 respectively
Quantity: 250ml and 200ml respectively
What do they promise?: The British Rose range is a British interpretation of a timeless icon of femininity. Our organic roses are hand picked, air-dried and then infused. Giving us exceptional quality rose essence for our products, leaving you glowing.
The Body Shop British Rose Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub
What does it promise? - Exfoliating feels exquisite with this beautiful gel textured body scrub with real rose petals. Infused with the essence of roses from Britain, it effortlessly melts onto the skin and gently refines to reveal smoother, fresher skin.
Packaging: Housed in a chic black jar, which is sturdy and makes the product easy to use. We took it along on a trip and the product did not spill.
Our experience: Easily one of the best scrubs launched by The Body Shop in recent times, the British Rose Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub is gentle on the skin. True to its promise, the scrub leaves your skin feeling smooth and supple. The gel based texture of the scrub makes it perfect for even those with sensitive skin (and I am one of them). The rich fragrance of British Rose is soft and aromatic; enough to make your regular shower feel like a royal bath. The scrub does a great job of getting rid of dead skin cells and ensures that you leave the shower feeling clean and fresh. The fragrance lasts for a good 2-3 hours post shower.
The Body Shop British Rose Instant Body Glow Body Butter
What does it promise? - Indulge in dewy hydration with our first Body Butter with glow enhancing rose essence. Beautifully pearlescent, this velvety-soft moisturiser is light to the touch but rich on moisture. The product gives you an instant all-over healthy looking skin.
Packaging: This one is packed in the signature body butter jar by The Body Shop. Though, we like the rose pink hue, which makes the jar look very chic.
Our experience: Ah! The delightful aroma of hand-picked roses. Truly, The Body Shop has hit the bulls eye with this one. British Rose Instant Glow Body Butter is our favourite from the range. While we can't vouch for the 'glow' factor, it certainly does a great job of ensuring that your skin stays hydrated and soft for 6-7 hours. Plus, the fragrance is an added bonus, which is not too overpowering or subtle either. The soft, rosy aroma of the butter makes you feel fresh and delightful all day long. Keeping the humid weather of our city in mind, we were a bit nervous about applying a body butter on an afternoon that touched 36 degrees. However, despite being a body butter, the product is not too greasy or sticky. In fact, the silky butter glides on well and gets absorbed rather quickly. Perfect for dry and sensitive skin, especially those who are looking to pamper their skin and keep it well hydrated throughout the year. We loved it!
Pros
Delightful fragrance
The fragrance is not too overpowering
Elegant packaging
Rich and perfectly textured
Ensures soft and supple skin
Decent price points
Cons
The body butter has nothing to do with 'glow'
Verdict: This one is our 'Pick of the Month' for a reason. Our experience of using the products has been a pretty good one, especially the body butter. A shower with this scrub is equal to enjoying a luxurious bath with a tub full of water with rose petals. We highly recommend the British Rose range to those with normal to dry skin.

Christmas Gift Kits | The Body Shop Glazed Apple Review
Gifting has never felt so good. Oh yes, and what really makes me happy is the fact that this is one of those few gifting options that supports a cause. In case you are one of the many individuals, who still hasn't picked up a Christmas Gift Kit for your loved one, head to The Body Shop store right now. They have got some amazing gift kits, packed in super cute boxes and wrappers, and each gift helps in providing clean water to people who are deprived of it. Want to know more? Read on.
Christmas is a magical, happy time. But, that should be for everyone, right? Sadly, there are people who are deprived of basic necessities, like food, shelter and the most basic need - Water. While we keep wondering if we have had our water intake for the day, there are people who survive on just one pitcher for the entire family, that too, filled with dirty or muddy water. For over 650 million people across the world, access to safe water is not
even possible and around 1,400 people die each day from diseases caused by dirty
water and poor sanitation. This year, The Body Shop has partnered with WaterAid to help transform
lives through access to safe water. For every specially selected gift bought at The Body Shop,
WaterAid can provide a family in Ethiopia with one day of safe water. Currently, the store is filled with some amazing gift kits, right from skincare special to perfumes and even make up. While there are gift kits of popular collections like Strawberry and Fuji Green Tea, one can also take their pick from two new collections - Glazed Apple and Cranberry - that are available in cute travel friendly boxes.
What? - The Body Shop Christmas Gift Kit (Glazed Apple)
Contents: One Apple shower gel, One Apple body butter and One Lily mini fine mesh / loofah
Quantity: Apple shower gel - 60ml, Apple body butter - 50ml
Price: Rs 995 for the full kit
Packaging: Same as the big sized bottle and jar. The shower gel comes in a plastic bottle with a flip flap cap, while the body butter is housed neatly in a plastic jar.
Texture: Glazed Apple body butter, just like others by The Body Shop, is soft, creamy and non-greasy. Glazed Apple shower gel forms a rich lather and post shower, leaves your skin feel supple and squeaky. Both the products are perfect for winter.
Fragrance: It's a lot like sitting amidst a whole lot of apples! But, the fragrance of both the shower gel and body butter is nice and subtle, not too overpowering. We like how it's not too fruity. And yes, the fragrance of the body butter is addictive and very peculiar. Apply it once and those around you will definitely ask about the fragrance.
Verdict: The Body Shop gets yet another winner, this time in the form of their globally popular Christmas range - Glazed Apple. During winter, we have always sweared by their Shea range. But this year, the brand has got us addicted to the delightful glazed apple collection. And the Christmas gift kits make for a win-win situation. It helps you pick some unique gifts for your loved ones, while making a family in Ethiopia smile this festive season.

Beauty Talks with Jacqueline Fernandez | Exclusive Interview
We have always been a fan of actress Jacqueline Fernandez' luscious locks and flawless skin. And her association with one of our favourite beauty brands - The Body Shop, is like an icing on the cake. She is the perfect ambassador for promoting skincare products with a cause. Her no-make up selfies and glowing skin has always been the subject of conversations. So, if her Instagram posts don't inspire you to take of your skin immediately, we don't know what will!
Post an event (where she was spotted launching the all new Spas of the World and Oils of Life range by The Body Shop), we caught up with Jacqueline for an exclusive chat on all things skincare. Dressed in a canary yellow matching separates by Be The Circus and stunning Louboutins, Jacqueline was being her usual self - enthusiastic, energetic and ever - so - happy. After a quick chat on our favourite products by The Body Shop (Yes! We both love the Fuji Green Tea range), we settled down to decode her beauty secrets. Excerpts from a fun conversation:

What's your favourite product from the latest range by The Body Shop?
Ah! It is very difficult for me to choose just one, because I have been using a lot stuff by The Body Shop and have become very fond of some products. Every time a new range is launched, I test almost every single product. There is something amazing for each season, with different fragrances and ingredients. I love the fact that they keep introducing new stuff almost once every month. Right now, I am loving the creams, which have an incredible texture and are perfect for winter. Once you use any cream by The Body Shop, it is very difficult to move on to anything else. Also, my current favourite is the Oils of Life range, and I particularly like the Facial Oil (read our review here) which is perfect for winters.
What's that one beauty mantra that you swear by?
Indulge in hair spas, or best, ensure that you oil your hair regularly. Go for a facial steam. Also, I have always found facial massages very useful. One won't really pay attention to something like this, but as a kid, I would always watch my Mom massaging her skin well while moisturising. And now, we also have facial massagers that can be used with your regular cream or oil. I think it's a very important element that needs to be included in our daily skincare regime, as it helps in more elasticity and keeps your skin feeling smooth.
And your personal beauty mantra for winters?
Moisturise, moisturise and moisturise. Ensure your skin is well hydrated!
Was there any particular product or skincare regime that you loved while growing up in Sri Lanka?
Nothing particular as such, because both India and Sri Lanka are like sister countries and we pretty much share the same ideals when it comes to beauty, especially the ingredients. We are very big on the properties of coconut, so we do use it a lot for skin and hair care. Also, we use a lot of natural ingredients, especially from exotic fruits, just like India. Plus, consuming them does help in maintaining good skin and hair.
What was the first beauty product that you remember using?
I think it was one of my mom's creams. So, I used it for moisturising. That is one thing I clearly remember. Every time I used to see my Mom getting ready for work, she would be moisturising her skin well. She would always see it to that her skin felt good. So, I guess that is one thing I took from her. No matter how much time it takes, I always make sure that I moisturise my skin well everyday. I am really huge on creams and anything that makes your skin smell and feel good. Also, that is one reason why The Body Shop's upcoming Spas of the World range is amazing. The ingredients leave your skin feeling smooth and supple. It's like pampering yourself at home.
![]() |
| Jacqueline Fernandez at the launch of The Body Shop's new range |
So, do you follow a regular skincare routine?
Yeah, I do. And I think CTM (Cleansing, Toning and Moisturising) is extremely important. Also, I never go to bed with my make up on. That's a huge no-no. I always use a good make up remover, which is easy on the eyes. Also, a good cleanser is essential. I use the Vitamin E cleanser by The Body Shop, which makes my skin feel squeaky clean after a long day. I also use toners and moisturisers. But now, I have also included the facial oil in my daily skin routine. The skin needs to feel hydrated, supple during winter and the facial oil leaves my skin feeling just that.
Do you think fitness plays a major role in the way your skin looks?
Absolutely! Exercising regularly takes good care of your skin from within. The minute you have good skin, half your battle is won, as you will require less covering up. Just a little bit of enhancements on the eyes, lips and you are done. So, taking good care of your skin is extremely important, with the right amount of sleep, good diet, exercise and the right products.
What are favourite your make up essentials?
I allow my skin to breathe as much as possible. Even at home, there's no make up at all. But, I always ensure that I am wearing sunscreen. But, when I step out, some of my essentials include a good concealer, BB cream that can both moisturise and provide decent coverage, a nice primer to smoothen out your skin. More than that, it depends. If I feel like making my eyes pop, I go for lots of mascara or if the lips, then bold lipsticks. But my most favourite make up item has to be a Blush. Using a blush is very important! That is definitely my essential.

The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil Review
The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil | Review
Oils have always been an integral part of an Indian woman's skin and hair care routine. Our grannies have suggested oil based skincare recipes, so did our mumma and now, our generation has been blessed with facial oils, that aim at revitalising and hydrating your skin from within. Facial oils are fast becoming a skincare must have, especially during winter, when your skin faces major dryness and sensitivity issues. Certain oils available in the market, with special properties, are targeted at specific age groups. One of the latest entrants in the Indian skincare market is by The Body Shop, and is called Oils of Life. Part of a skincare range by the same name, the Oils of Life facial oil is specially targeted for the 30+ age group. If you have been following us on Snapchat, you know that we did a day long series of posts when we got our hands on the product. For this review, we got a female volunteer close to our team (Age: 35) and got her to try the product for a week. Read on to know the results.
What? - The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil
What does it promise? - Infused with three precious seed oils and a blend of seven essential oils, we've created the Oils of Life™ Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil. The lightweight and quickly absorbing texture leaves a non-sticky finish, melting onto the skin, leaving it silky and soft. Instantly, skin appears smoother, more radiant, revived, revitalised and nourished. After 4 weeks, the signs of aging appear reduced, wrinkles appear minimised, and skin feels more elastic and firm.
Price: Rs 3095 Quantity: 30ml
Main Ingredients: Black cumin oil from Egypt, Rosehip Oil from Chile and Camellia Oil from China
How to use? - This dermatologically tested oil can be applied every morning and evening before applying a cream. Apply 1 to 2 drops maximum (2-3 for very dry skin) onto the face and neck and gently massage into the skin.
Packaging: The oil comes in a glass bottle, which of course, is not very travel friendly. But, since the bottle does not weigh too much, it's not too heavy to carry around. Plus, the cap (with dropper) fits well, so no chances of the product spilling out either. The product comes with a glass dropper, which is convenient. You can dispense the right amount of oil, without wasting even a small drop.
Texture: According to our volunteer, this is one of the most light weight facial oils that she has ever used (the volunteer has tried and regularly used two popular facial oils in the past). The texture of the oil is extremely smooth and feels as light as water. The product is dermatologically tested and suitable for all skin types, including those with sensitive skin.
Fragrance: Nothing like the typical facial oils, that smell like umm.. Oil! The wonderful blend of multiple oils in this product (more than 10 - 15, to be precise) result in a unique, subtle fragrance, with light notes of rosemary, olive, lavender and more.
Experience: A good facial oil takes at least 4 weeks to show signs of recovery. Since our volunteer tried the product for a week, we mostly kept a tab on the texture, hydration and other elements. The product was used daily, twice, after thoroughly cleansing the face. After massaging a few drops of the oil, the volunteer used her daily moisturiser. The first thing we noticed was that the oil blends into the skin like a dream, leaving no signs of the oil at all. It does not feel heavy or sticky, and within seconds, leaves your skin like a blank canvas for the moisturiser, BB creams and make up to follow. The oil worked well on hydrating our volunteer's skin from within, even while she gave a presentation in a conference room with 18c temperature (and FYI, she has combination skin). Her skin did not feel stretchy or dull even after hours inside an air-conditioned office. Post office hours, her skin continued to feel fresh and hydrated while traveling. She continued with her night skincare routine, but added The Body Shop's oils of life facial oil as the first step post cleansing (followed by her moisturiser and under eye cream). The next day, our volunteer informed that her skin felt hydrated and supple. Her cheeks usually feel a little dry during this time of the year, but that wasn't the case now. Her skin felt tight, firm and extremely soft. She is looking forward to seeing how the product works overtime, but is definitely happy with the results so far.
Pros: Attractive packaging
Light weight, non-sticky formula
Hydrating
Keeps your skin extremely soft and supple
Perfect for all skin types
No harmful ingredients
Cons: Glass bottle makes it less travel friendly
Verdict: Our volunteer gives The Body Shop India's Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil two thumbs up and has already added it to her daily skincare routine. With almost everything going for it, and no harmful ingredients, this product is definitely a must have this season!

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub | Review
It's rare for someone like me (with sensitive skin) to come across a scrub that is not just gentle, but also extremely hydrating. So far, I have always stayed away from trying body scrubs, because they often lead to de-hydrated, dry skin. And when The Body Shop recently launched their all new Fuji Green Tea collection and sent us products from the range, I thought I'll give the scrub a miss. But while checking out the texture of each product, I was quite impressed with this scrub and curious to know if it will change my perception. Curious that I am, I decided to take a risk and test The Body Shop's Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub. The result (and honest opinion) - I am hooked, and how!
What? - The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub
Quantity: 250ml
Price: Rs 1295
What does it promise? The product perfect for cleansing and exfoliating, the crisp and refreshing scent of Fuji Green Tea™ Body Scrub helps to lift away dead skin cells, detox the body, and prepare skin for moisture. The Green Tea range of products helps in lifting away dead skin cells. Infused with replenishing green tea from Japan, which helps you get healthy looking skin. Enriched with Community Fair Trade Honey from Ethiopia.
How to use? - Use a spatula or spoon to get the required amount of product in your hand (I prefer using it this way, as it does not waste any product and this process is hygienic). Apply to damp skin in a circular motion, then rinse thoroughly for refreshingly smooth skin. For best results, use two to three times a week.
Packaging: A sturdy plastic jar, which is transparent (and cute). The product is easily visible through this jar, so you can keep a tab on the amount that you are using. The metallic cap fits well and ensures that the product does not spill. Safe to carry while traveling.
Texture: Smooth, gel based scrub with micro-granules. The granules are not harsh and the product is extremely light weight.

Overall Experience: This is exactly what I was looking for! A light weight, gentle scrub that does its job well, without drying your skin out. Right from the delightful fragrance to the texture, packaging and introducing a refreshing ingredient like the Fuji Green Tea, The Body Shop has nailed it in every department. The product starts working the moment you start massaging it on your body in the shower. Within minutes, you start feeling relaxed, hydrated and squeaky clean; all this, right after the first use! 2-3 trials later, I was in love. I noticed that the scrub helped in exfoliating and ensuring that my skin remains soft, while getting rid of the dead cells (this is where the gel + micro-granules formula comes to the rescue) and even some pesky in-growths. What’s also amazing is the fact that a little product goes a really long way, which means, the jar will last you for a good 6-7 months, depending on the way you use it. Honestly, using this scrub feels like a trip to the spa. And the best part? It works well on all skin types. One of our team members, who has oily skin, tried the scrub and made a trip to the TBS store to pick up her own jar. Now you know what I mean by getting hooked on, right?
Pros: Delightful fragrance
Refreshing mix of ingredients
Gentle texture
Works well on all skin types
Well priced for a 250ml jar
Cons: None
Verdict: The Body Shop's Fuji Green Tea Scrub has fast become one of my favourite skincare products. I am totally stocking up on this, and so should you!
