Sonakshi Sinha adds a Punjabi Twist to Helen's Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu for Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi
China and it's various aspects play a crucial role in the sequel - Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi. With a distinctly oriental flavour attached to the adventures of it's crazy and happy characters, the film features many Chinese elements such as it's language, culture, clothing, locales and even characters based in the country. Hence, the makers decided to look back at one of the most unforgettable Bollywood dance numbers, inspired by Chinese elements. However, that's not without adding their own fun twist. Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi will feature the iconic ' Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu', originally shot on Helen and sung by Geeta Dutt for the 1958 hit - Howrah Bridge.
The recreated version includes Punjabi lyrics and a more pumped up melody, blended together with popular lyrics from the original song. The track has been recreated by Sohail Sen, with lyrics and rap by Mudassar Aziz [who has also directed the film]. Jassie Gill and Sinha, who play lead roles in the film, have sung the male and female parts respectively. The song was launched across social media platforms earlier today. It features Sinha sporting a rather cute hairdo, dancing around a club, grooving to some crazy steps, along with other cast members - including Gill, Jimmy Sheirgill, Piyush Mishra among others. All this, while trying to save her life from some local goons!

Shahid Kapoor to groove on Prabhudheva's hit dance track - Urvashi Urvashi
Ask Kumar about the recreation, and he quips, “The original number feat Prabhu Deva was an iconic chartbuster composed by AR Rahman. Yo Yo Honey Singh has recreated this version as per the taste of today's young generation. This track will the onscreen magic with Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, and I am sure the next generation will have a have blast dancing to this song, when it releases.”
The Top Ranbir Kapoor Track Playlist | Birthday Special
Iktara - Wake Up Sid
Alright! This one's a personal favourite. Love the melodious composition by the late Aadesh Shrivastava. Also, this film is extremely under-rated.
Clearly, RK was on a chartbuster spree! Just look at that graph. Adding to it was the soulful Tujhe Bhula Diya, featuring Ranbir and Priyanka Chopra. Remember using it for one of my contemporary dance routines back then.
Aashiyaan - Barfi!
A beautiful poetry in motion, with some of the most heartwarming tracks. Barfi! was a magical ode to love. An ode like no other. Performances that can melt your heart and make you smile. This was clearly one of Ranbir's most challenging and excellent performances till date. And, this song is enough to make your day.
Sadda Haq - Rockstar
Ah! My anthem. I absolutely swear by this one helluva incredible track, composed by the ace AR Rahman and performed beautifully by Mohit Chauhan. As Jordan in Rockstar, RK was in top form. Again, an album with way too many favourites. Tough to choose, but we had to pick one.
Matargashti - Tamasha
I don't care if this sounds repetitive, but it is extremely difficult to choose a favourite from such wonderful film albums! The film happens to be one of my favourite films from 2015, and I stand by everything positive that I had tweeted about the film (not the one to change stands. nope). Tamasha was beautiful and once again, Ranbir and Deepika stole the show with their unmatchable chemistry. While both Matargashti and Agar Tum Saath Ho are superb compositions, the former won purely because of it's fun value. This is one happy number, and is perfect to take your mood to the next level on a dull, boring day!

Getting Trippy With It | Udta Punjab Music Review
The upbeat and easygoing Da da dasse comes next. Again, one can't enough of the signature tune here. Kanika Kapoor's vocals, coupled with Babu Habbi's rapping and Trivedi's perfect composition make this one a well arranged song. The kind of a track that you would love to hear while sitting all alone and pondering over something (maybe?)
Mallya is back as a solo vocalist in the melodious and well composed Hass nach le. Fans of Shahid Kapoor might get transported to a song titled "Ik tu hi" (remember the Hans Raj Hans version in Mausam?) with this one, especially in the first 1:30 mins of the track. At least, we did! Mallya effortlessly sings this one, especially the high notes. The dholki and harmonium artists do an excellent job. Perhaps the only number with a touch of romance, this one might just make it to your next Sangeet choreography list.
