Shah Rukh Khan at Met Gala 2025: A Sabyasachi Fashion Moment Blending Black Dandyism and Indian Culture
When Shah Rukh Khan steps into a room, elegance follows. And at the Met Gala 2025, the global icon didn't just make an entrance—he made a statement. Debuting at fashion’s most-watched event, SRK graced the red blue carpet in a head to toe custom Sabyasachi look. The King of Bollywood delivered a look that was not just fashion-forward but culturally significant, merging the elegance of Indian heritage with the refined sophistication of global menswear. Khan’s outfit, designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, was an impeccable representation of Indian couture with a distinctly modern twist.
The outfit featured a floor-length coat made from fine Tasmanian wool, offering a tailored silhouette that was both structured and elegant. The coat was adorned with Japanese horn buttons, a detail that added a subtle, global touch to the design while keeping with the sophisticated mood of the look. The ensemble was paired with a black silk shirt and tailored trousers, offering the perfect blend of traditional Indian opulence and Western minimalist style.
True to the dandy spirit, the accessories were bold, personal, and poetic. Khan wore layered talismanic chains, a crystal-encrusted 'K' pendant, and a diamond-studded star brooch that caught the light with every step. But the crown jewel—figuratively and nearly literally—was a handcrafted 18k gold cane, set with tourmalines, sapphires, and diamonds. It wasn't just a fashion prop; it stood out as a symbol of legacy, power, and refinement.
The Met Gala 2025 theme—Black Dandyism—celebrated the tradition of Black men in fashion using clothing as a tool for self-expression, individuality, and power. Shah Rukh Khan’s outfit paid perfect homage to this theme. Through his choice of Sabyasachi, Khan embraced the nuanced art of dandyism, blending high fashion with cultural pride. His ensemble was not just about looking good; it was about making a bold statement about identity, legacy, and heritage. This ensemble didn’t just pay homage to Indian royalty—it celebrated the fusion of East meets West tailoring, showcasing a globalised approach to fashion, while maintaining strong ties to Indian cultural aesthetics. The satin kamarbandh, reminiscent of traditional Indian regal attire, added a touch of Mughal opulence, while the clean lines and sharp tailoring rooted the look firmly in contemporary menswear.
With this debut, Sabyasachi Mukherjee once again solidified his role as the global ambassador of Indian couture. His design philosophy—championing the “personalised imperfection of the human hand”—was stitched into every fold of the garment, and amplified by SRK’s legendary aura. To sum it up - Khan’s look stood out not for its extravagance, but for its intentionality. It was timeless. It was tailored. It was Shah Rukh Khan, the dandy, the king, the storyteller—in every stitch.
What are your thoughts on SRK's Met Gala debut, and his all black look?

The Power Suit Girls | Style Files
If there is one statement look and trend that I swear by, it's the 'Pant-Suit' or 'Power Suit'. I can literally have them in every colour, texture and silhouette! Luckily for us, gone are the days when suits only meant stiff fabrics, straight fit trousers and corporate styled blazers, in not more than three colours - black, grey and brown (whatever happened to variance). Power suits have taken the spotlight, with celebrities opting to experiment and bring their a-game on the red carpet in brighter colours, relaxed silhouettes, and easy-going luxe blazers.
Power suits are all about comfort, and oozing that boss girl vibe with panache! Personally, I like making trips to Zara, Massimo Dutti and Mango to get my hands on some interesting Pant Suits. There are some interesting labels, e-commerce start ups and designers who have given their own interesting spin to this powerful outfit!
Let's take a look at how some of our favourite celebrities have rocked this power packed outfit in the past, and take notes on how you can put together the perfect look for office hours.
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja
Kareena Kapoor Khan
Bollywood's very own female actors have sported the pant suit at multiple occasions, taking it from day to night, formal occasions to casual brunch dates and bringing their own unique twist to every look. From Sonam Kapoor Ahuja's chic pink Calvin Klein suit to Deepika Padukone's edgy purple Mao suit; the divas have showed us that the pant suit is versatile and how! Pair it with a crisp white shirt like Sonam, a bold sheer blouse like PeeCee or go for a bandeau top like Bebo to show off your abs. There is a look made in fashion heaven for everyone!
Priyanka Chopra Jonas
Neutral tones, sculpted shoulders, tuxedo style and edgy oversized; international superstars, models and actors have showed their liking for the outfit at a variety of events. Most prefer to keep the overall look minimalistic, while letting the outfit boss up and do the talking. The outfit has not only been restricted to glamming it up at red carpet events, but has also been viewed as part of fashion liberation. Lady Gaga chose a billowing, over-sized suit, as she delivered a strong and impactful message at the Elle 25th annual women in Hollywood (October 2018), where she delivered a powerful speech on her experience with mental health struggles and sexual assault, while concluding - "Today, I wear the suit." Many celebrities have chosen to put a powerful foot forward and made a statement with their choice of outfit!

When it comes to red carpet appearances at the Cannes Film Festival, there ain't no one stopping Sonam Kapoor Ahuja. The actress made an impact with some remarkable looks at the Cannes red carpet this year. She continues to make us proud with her incredible sartorial choices (with sister and stylist Rhea Kapoor putting together the perfect looks), which go on to create a strong buzz in the international media as well. This year too, we witnessed how Sonam made a stylish splash at the French Riviera with some breathtakingly beautiful looks. We can't get over how stunning she looked in almost all her outfits. Right from the make up to accessories and her hair, we couldn't stop raving about it all. We gotta give it to Sonam for raising the bar at Cannes (and almost every other red carpet event). Here's a round up of all the looks sported by our favourite fashionista, as she attended multiple events and sashayed down the red carpet for Chopard at Cannes 2019!

The #DancebeeFashion Pick: Sonam Kapoor Ahuja in a powerful tuxedo, painting the red carpet with massive boss babe vibes? Yes, please! The actress reserved her best look for the last appearance at Cannes 2019, as she ditched the good ol' gown and stepped out looking like a goddamn boss in a custom Ralph & Russo tuxedo. Of course, the detailing won our hearts, as the overskirt attached to the jacket oozed drama and charm all over. Statement jewellery upped the glam quotient, as the actress picked a stunning diamond and 155 carat Columbian emerald encrusted necklace to go with the look, paired with drop down earrings (both by Chopard). We absolutely loved how she made a statement with glossy nude lips and bold eyes - complete with lots of kohl, eyeliner, and layers of mascara. In the hair department, she kept the look sleek with a tight bun. A pair of white pointed-toe heels by Jimmy Choo completed this picture perfect look. Hands down our favourite look sported by the pretty actress. Truly, a class apart!

Kudos to the Kapoor sisters - Sonam and Rhea, for dishing out such impeccable looks, and forever changing the way we look at fashion.

Valentines Day
Love Struck
As winter transcends to spring, the month of February is already upon us (wow! almost a fortnight done). Needless to say, the month is synonymous with the feeling of being love! With blooming flowers, tropical vibes and a tinge of red all around; one can't miss the whiff of love in the air. Promises, roses and moments of mushy-ness. The endless list of date night ideas. Updates and posts that follow. Nothing can match upto the feeling of being in love. Sigh! It's wonderful, isn't it?
But, have you looked at yourself in the mirror, and showered some words of compliments? A subtle, "You look wonderful today," from a special someone creates a flutter in our stomach, doesn't it? How about we tweak things a bit and say this to ourselves, just once in a while? Learning to love yourself and being comfortable in one's skin is the most liberating and beautiful feeling. When no one stands by, you have yourself. When all else fails, you can motivate yourself. No one can love you better, if you fail to love yourself first. So, stop being harsh and learn to love! This valentine's day, give yourself some much needed love. Compliment yourself, and smile. Don't wait for someone else to make a difference! Love thy self fiercely, folks. So much, that when others see you, they know exactly how it should be done.
This one's for the person who makes me smile! You know who you are. Love and light, always ❤️
Here's wishing the entire #DancebeeFam a very Happy Valentine's Day! Hope you had a great time with your loved one, and shall always continue to do so.
