Before the monsoons dawn upon us and my favorite season, the sunshine happy summer bids adieu, I thought of doing a fun post. This one is all about the things that I can't do without when I am out in the office or heading to a meeting or an interview. Here's a sneak peek into things that you will always find in my bag, apart from the usual box of mints, pen drives, iPod, earphones and more.
Stepping out in style with French Connection - Celeb Spotting

This festive season, we are collaborating with French Connection for a series titled 'Stepping out in style with French Connection', where we will be presenting some fun posts featuring stylish apparel and accessories from the brand's Autumn Winter collection 2013. Be it dressing up for a party or getting your style quotient right for the winter chills, I am sure this series will be of great help for most of you (and yes, we are covering men's fashion too). In the first part, we are starting off with celebrities who have been spotted flaunting uber cool items from French Connection. Right from Rajkumar Shahid Kapoor to the Besharam Ranbir, everyone's loving it. So, let's take a look at how these actors paired up their pick.

1. Shahid Kapoor at a promotional event for R... Rajkumar
We spotted the same shirt at the Palladium store, but the redherringbone piece was out of stock. So, we opted to capture the greentartan piece instead. Wear it as a shirt or pair it up with a tee to keep you warm, this one is a keeper.

2. Genelia Deshmukh at a brand promotional event
The blue Marie stretch dress makes for a beautiful and comfortable piece of apparel, which can be paired up with brown or nude heels and a chunky piece of watch. We like the way Genelia Deshmukh has kept it simple, when she wore this dress at a promotional event recently. Wear it with your big and bold sunnies for an afternoon brunch with girls or pair it up with a statement necklace for a formal party.
We spotted the Marie Stretch dress in blue at the Palladium store. If you are not too fond of blue, the same dress is available in black as well.

3. Ranbir Kapoor in the Oreo ad
Saw the new Oreo advertisement with Ranbir Kapoor as the brand ambassador? Yeah, alright! While most of you were busy checking out expressions as he dunked that biscuit in a playful mood, I spotted the lemon curry FCUK Hardware T - shirt on him. I like how the stylist has paired up a blue shirt with a Casio G - shock inspired watch, to give Ranbir a relaxed and casual look.
We spotted the same tee at the store and the same is also available in a dark purple hue, for those who don't usually opt for brighter shades.

4. Huma Qureshi at a promotional event
The Gangs of Wasseypur actress stepped out in a blue Vienna lacy jersey dress at an event, where she launched the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. Although she looked radiant, we wish she could have opted for a better pair of shoes, make up and a much better hair do. Nevertheless, this fitted jersey dress has a cute flare skirt which adds a girly charm, with an interesting lace paneling at the sides. Wear it for a night out with friends and this dress won't disappoint.
We spotted the same dress in the Cherry tonic shade at the store.

FCUK Spring/Summer collection 2013
This weekend, I was invited to check out the latest collection at FCUK. If I had to describe the collection in three words, it would be: Fresh, Summery, and Bright. They have something for everyone, and it is one of the few labels that has managed to maintain a perfect blend of trends and comfort. I was impressed to see striped dresses and T-shirts in a variety of colors (and not just B&W), neon and pastel Tees, shorts in bold colors among other interesting apparel and accessories.
Fall/Winter Collection 2012 at French Connection

Chic, feminine, bold and sophisticated, words that best describe FCUK's Fall/Winter 2012 collection. The garments in this collection are designed in a classical style with a contemporary touch. Recently, they invited me to visit the French Connection store at Linking road (Bandra). Unfortunately, it was a packed house, thanks to the fact that I chose a Saturday to check out the new collection. But just like every year, lectures and assignments are given top most priority during the weekdays.
The fall winter collection of French Collection has something for everyone (well, almost). Prints, Lace, Soft 'take me home' pullovers, adorable peter pan collars, double-breasted jackets, Embellished dresses and lots more. During a short conversation with store manager, he told me that the collection is inspired by the 60's and there some items also had a androgynous edge to them.
Let's take a look at some things that caught the Dancebee's eye!

Some of the Bandage dresses and OTT blouses can be given a miss!
Final Verdict:
The collection is a good mix of different types of dresses, jackets, coats etc which are perfect for this season. I am definitely going back to pick up two things - Beaded Gina collared jumper (love the collar) and the Crystal studded cotton dress!
