Sonam Kapoor | Bollywood at Festival de Cannes 2016
Festival de Cannes is all about the best of cinema from across the globe. But while cinemaphiles cannot get enough of the on-screen action, fashion lovers wait with bated breath to see the who's who of World cinema don their best outfits. The red carpet at Cannes is a much talked about affair every year. We kickstart our new Bollywood at Festival de Cannes 2016 series by talking about a diva, who won more than a million hearts with her sartorial choices, both on and off the red carpet. Yes, we are talking about Sonam Kapoor, who is representing the make up brand L'Oreal Paris at the festival. Her regular updates on social media have sent Sona's fans into a tizzy. From one stunning look to another, here's how our Kapoor diva rocked her red carpet looks at the Cannes.
Where? - Festival de Cannes Press Interviews
Wearing - Rimzim Dadu
What we think? - We love the easy breezy blue on Sonam, as she effortlessly carried this Rimzim Dadu number on a sunny day under the clear skies. Blue is one of our favourite picks for this season and with this futuristic saree in shades of blue and black, Sonam got it right! We like how Namrata Soni opted for subtle shades of blue on the eye and a hint of pink on the lips, keeping the overall look very easy going.
Where? - Press Interviews (Day 2)
Wearing: Ralph & Russo
What we think? - One of our personal favourite looks from her off-red carpet moments, Rhea picked this gorgeous Ralph & Russo number for Sonam on a day filled with press interactions. Since it was a day event, her hair was neatly tied into a chic updo and the make up was kept simple. We loved the addition of Christian Louboutin heels and trend cat eye sunglasses (not in picture). Perfect for a day out!
What? - Festival De Cannes red carpet - Mal de pierres screening
Wearing - Ralph & Russo
What we think? - Definitely one of our favourite picks at the Cannes red carpet this year, Sonam simply spelled W.O.W in a stunning custom made Ralph & Russo couture outfit. Heads turned as the actress walked the red carpet, leaving everyone wanting more. The fine detailing on this silk crepe dress, with embroidered silver thread work, silver bullion, beads and crystals stood out among several other outfits. While Namrata opted for nude lips, the eye makeup was where all the action was, as her heavily kohled eyes were well accentuated with highlights created with a white pencil / kajal. Overall, this look was a complete winner!
Where? - Festival de Cannes red carpet
Wearing - Ralph & Russo
What we think? - Sonam went the Ralph & Russo way once again, this time in a champagne hued gown with a dramatic silk floral organza cape. What we loved about this look was the way Namrata added a classic touch to Sonam's look with a neatly tied bun. Make up was all about hues of pink and nude, keeping it subtle. But of course, it was the custom made gown that won all the applause, which was paired with some gorgeous bling and a pair of Ferragamos.
Where? - Chopard Party
Wearing - Ralph & Russo and Chopard
What we think? - Ah! That's how you nail the classic all black look. We couldn't take our eyes off Sonam in this sheer black Ralph & Russo number (must say, the Kapoor - Ralph & Russo affair continued successfully throughout the festival and the result - some jaw dropping, stunning looks). Sonam looked every inch a diva in the custom made ball gown. The lace gloves and studded Chopard neckpiece added some extra charm to this vintage glam look. While once again, the overall make up was kept simple, bold red lips and sharp eyebrows added some much needed drama. Sonam surely took our breath away in this fantastic look!

Skincare for all Ages | L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfect
Good skincare ain't rocket science. Thankfully for us, there are brands who are constantly working on one revolutionary product after another, in order to ensure that we take precautionary measures at the right age. It is never about fair skin, trust me. A good daily skincare regime has more to do with taking care of your face and the skin issues that you are dealing with, be it blemishes, fine lines or wrinkles. All this, with the right set of products. Apart from making sure that the product suits your face type, you need to know if it suits your age. After all, every decade in a woman’s life not just comes with a changing set of priorities, but also changing skincare needs. Each age group has different skin concerns and the same cannot be addressed by products suited for some other age.
Keeping this important aspect in mind, L'Oreal Paris recently launched the Skin Perfect range for three age groups - 20+, 30+ and 40+. Each range has different set of key ingredients that will help address the concerns faced by individuals of a particular age group. The anti imperfections + whitening cream with Purifyll and Vitamin 3X complex is targeted at the 20+ age group. The complete range comprises of the day cream along with a cleansing foam. Combined with Perlite and Salicylic Acid, this range helps keep oiliness, pimples and blemishes at bay through your twenties, while giving you that perfect clear skin glow. The 18g Cream is priced at Rs 99, 50g cream priced at Rs 325 and the Cleanser is priced at Rs 105.
The anti fine lines + whitening with pro collagen and Vitamin 3X complex cream is made for 30+ and the range for this age group comprises of a moisturizing cream along with cleansing foam. Both contain Pro Collagen which is perfect for fighting those fine lines that begin to appear in your thirties, giving you younger, glowing skin. The 18g Cream is priced at Rs 149, 50g cream is priced at Rs 425 and the cleanser is priced at Rs 135. The anti-aging + whitening with pro retinol and Vitamin 3X complex for 40+ age group. This cream helps work on all the skin problems caused due to aging. The Pro Retinol A in this cream helps get rid of wrinkles and revitalizes your skin. The 50 g Cream is priced at Rs 595. Clearly, L'Oreal believes in the statement - there is something for everyone. See, even actress Katrina Kaif has asked you to believe the expert.
Well, now that you know about the three new skincare ranges by L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfect, do give it a try and let us know what you think about it. We like how they are reasonably priced and offer to help solve skin problems for different age brackets. I tested the range suitable for my age and a detailed review of my experience will be up soon. Do keep watching this space for it.

What's In My Bag?
Before the monsoons dawn upon us and my favorite season, the sunshine happy summer bids adieu, I thought of doing a fun post. This one is all about the things that I can't do without when I am out in the office or heading to a meeting or an interview. Here's a sneak peek into things that you will always find in my bag, apart from the usual box of mints, pen drives, iPod, earphones and more.
