What's In My Bag?
Before the monsoons dawn upon us and my favorite season, the sunshine happy summer bids adieu, I thought of doing a fun post. This one is all about the things that I can't do without when I am out in the office or heading to a meeting or an interview. Here's a sneak peek into things that you will always find in my bag, apart from the usual box of mints, pen drives, iPod, earphones and more.

Winter Skincare - Top 5 products
It's that time of the year when the chilly weather, afternoon humidity, cold winds in the evening and indoor heat takes a toll on your skin (at-least here, it does). Post all the NYE parties and lazy holiday moments, your skin needs some really good pampering. As we are already in the middle of January, there will also be some changes in the weather very soon. You definitely don't want your skin to suffer in the midst all this, do you? So, here's a list of Top 5 products that should make their way into your bags, on the bedside table and everywhere else, along with some skincare tips!
Save your Skin from the October heat
Rains have almost bid adieu and October heat has left people across the country feeling tired. It's not just your body, but skin and hair as well that suffer the wrath of this terrible heat. With the temperature soaring and the humidity sinking fast , how do you keep yourself looking beautiful and healthy for Diwali, which is coming up next month?
Here are a few tips that can save your skin and hair from the crazy October heat:
1. Protect your skin from the sun: Save your skin from the harsh sun, especially in the afternoon. Use a scarf to cover your face during the peak hours (10 am to 3 pm) or carry a hat with you. A good sunscreen lotion or cream is a must.

2. Lesser is better: Heavy moisturisers and too much make up may lead to your pores getting clogged up and might leave your skin heavy and greasy. Let it breathe. Buy a good face wash and wash it twice a day (Make sure you don't over do it, as it can strip off the essential oils from your skin). Use water- based products, and avoid cream- based ones.

3. Let your clothes do the talking: Due to the humidity, you might end up having rashes on your skin if you wear tight clothes or clothes which are made up of synthetic fabric. Stick to clothes made of Cotton or something lighter, that is airy and comfortable. Who says you can't follow the top trends during the October heat? Of course you can! Opt for prints or go for the minimalist look, the choice is yours.
4. Hair Care is a Must: Due to the heat, your hair might turn coarse and dry. Invest in a good serum or leave in conditioner, which can protect your hair. Also, avoid washing your hair everyday. Twice or thrice a week will do. Use a shampoo that cleanses your scalp and follow it up with a conditioner or mask, which will keep your locks healthy and soft. If you have long hair, tie them up into a pony or roll them up into a bun while travelling, especially if you are drive a bike. This protects your hair from the sun. Opt for a short crop or go for a trim, your hair needs a salon appointment during the October heat!
Hope you will benefit from this post, as the October heat might extend till the first fortnight of November (According to the weather bureaus in India).

Instagram-ming!
I joined the 'Instagram' bandwagon a few months ago and I must say, it's good fun. It's like a mini glimpse into my life through pictures (which I believe speak louder than words). Books I'm reading right now, stuff I buy and sometimes, just simple random stuff.
I got these books from Crossword last week. I am a huge fan of Marquez and loved his book 'Love in the time of cholera'. Hence, I decided to buy 'One hundred years of solitude'. The title of the other book in this picture, 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai', was interesting enough for me to buy it (and as I have started reading it, I can tell you it surely is). I've managed to catch up on some 'Magazine reading time', which I really love.
On my last trip to Infinity Mall (Malad), I finally managed to check out the products at Kiehl's. Their staff is super sweet (especially the two people, Shahzad and Deepti, who helped me out) and made me go through their entire 'skin analysis' process before buying anything. They suggested a couple of products and gave me samples of the same, to check if it suits my skin. Must say, I love the toner and the sunscreen. I got the Kiehl's cranberry lip balm #1 for myself and oh boy! I'm loving it.
The HUL team sent this to us last week. I'm loving the Keratinology range and the Spa mask is too good. The Sunsilk Keratinology range has advanced products for intense repair and coloured hair. I use the mask once a week and you guys can definitely take my word for it. Its really good!
I've always been a 'Bus' person. For five years, I travelled to college in a bus because I never felt the need to keep changing my mode of transport. But my new college is a little far and train travelling makes things easier. Although I end up travelling by Central or Harbour line from college to home, this one was clicked from the train on the Western line when I wanted to get down at Lower Parel for some work. So many things have changed, but these platforms just don't! Before coming up with new modes of transport, can the railways please do something about the state of their platforms, please?
Well, these were a couple of pictures that I uploaded on Instagram!
