After all the excitement and buzz around her wedding dates, actress Sonam Kapoor finally tied the knot with her long time beau (and now, husband) Anand Ahuja, during a quaint and peaceful Anand Karaj ceremony in Mumbai earlier today. In what looked like a scene straight from a fairy tale, the newly weds were happily seen posing and exchanging sweet nothings during the rituals, and enjoyed every bit of the moment where they exchanged garlands. while the guests couldn't stop going gaga over their cuteness.

The Kapoors and Ahujas chose a family bungalow in Bandra (Suburban Mumbai) as the venue for D-day, making it an intimate affair with just family and close friends attending the ceremony. The decor was breathtakingly beautiful, with dominant shades of blues and white flowers (mostly fresh Mogra) all around. Just as the rituals were about to begin, Sonam walked in with a bright smile, along with her brother Harshvardhan, cousins including Arjun Kapoor and friends, holding a dupatta over her head.
While several celebrities chose their best 'Summer Wedding' outfits for the occasion, the highlight of the afternoon were obviously the gorgeous newly weds. Their infectious smiles stole the show, and of course, we couldn't take our eyes off their respective outfits either.
Everybody was anxious to know all about Sonam's bridal outfit. Finally, the look was revealed and Sonam chose to keep the complete look traditional with a Red Bridal Lehanga by designed Anuradha Vakil. A Punjabi wedding is incomplete without the 'Chooda' and pretty Kaleeras, and needless to say, the actress looked every inch a gorgeous Punjabi bride. The Kaleeras worn by her are customised by Mrinalini Chandra, with peacock motifs.
While the couple stole the show with their quirk and cuteness, it was hard to miss all the special moments shared between the siblings. Sonam's sister Rhea and Brother Harshvardhan stood by their loving sibling all through the ceremony, and even shared some adorable messages for their 'Senior'. #SonamKiShaadi was incomplete without these special moments and Aww-worthy memories!

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's fairytale wedding at a heritage property in Tuscany is all over our timelines. The duo, who got married at a private ceremony in Italy on Monday, looked every inch a power couple in love. Right from the dreamy set up to the stunning outfits, every detail grabbed a lot of eyeballs. The couple chose to announce their big day with a post on their respective social media accounts and needless to say, platforms like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook went crazy with constant RTs, reposts and shares. In fact, Kohli's post on Instagram went on to become the fastest to reach 1 million likes in less than a hour.

Ace fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee was roped in to design the wedding ensemble for both the bride and groom. We couldn't take our eyes off Sharma's blush pink lehenga, chosen for the wedding ceremony. Sabyasachi's idea was to chose a colour that would perfectly blend in with surroundings of Tuscany, rather than stand out. The blush pink outfit with tropical flora and fauna was hand embroidered in silk floss. Exotic birds and butterflies were rendered with needle craft. And, guess how many karigars worked on Sharma's lehenga? 67! Yes, you read that right. 67 karigars worked over a period of 32 days to create this stunning ensemble. Beautiful jadau jewellery (handcrafted in uncut diamonds, pearls and pale pink spinel), minimal make up and a neat up do, perfectly set with flowers, completed her look.
On the wedding day, the bride and groom complimented each other, as they chose hues of ivory, blush pink and gold for their respective outfits. The floral theme dominated, right from the set up to outfits and even the bidaai ritual, where family members were seen showering Sharma with rose petals all around.
For her Mehendi ceremony, Sharma wanted a colourful outfit. Sabyasachi created a boho look, full of colours. We absolutely love the graphic lehenga in fuchsia pink and Indian orange (mango shade might ring a bell). The outfit is handprinted by famous Kolkata based block printers and hand embroidered with gota and marori.
At the engagement ceremony, one couldn't help but fall in love with the vintage vibes all around. Sharma was keen on wearing a velvet saree. The designer chose to create it in their signature Gulkand burgundy hue. The saree was hand embroidered using miniature pearls, zardosi and marori. The look was accessorised with a stunning uncut diamond and pearl choker, with matching studs. Minimal make up, kohl rimmed eyes, a neat bun with perfectly set red roses and a bindi completed Sharma's lovely vintage look.

In a joint statement released yesterday, Sharma and Kohli said - “Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share this wonderful news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.” The couple will be hosting a reception in New Delhi for their relatives on December 21, which will be followed by a reception for industry friends and cricketers in Mumbai on December 26.

Every bride wants her outfit to tell a story - Karleo | Exclusive Interview
The wedding season is just around the corner, and as usual, popular designers are busy adding final touches to their bespoke outfits for brides-to be. While some go traditional, others chose to experiment. If you are among those who wishes to be a modern bride on her big day, especially at a white wedding, look no further. label Karleo's Karan Berry and Leon Vaz, who are known for their pret-a-couture and couture garments. One look at their stunning evening gowns and bridal ensembles, and you can't help but get mesmerised by the fine detailing. Last month, we got an exclusive glimpse of their latest collection - White Symphony, that reflects the harmony between faiths and is perfectly designed for the modern bride. In an exclusive chat with Diary of a Dancebee, we got the designer duo to tell us more about their latest collection, vision and some helpful tips for the brides-to be.
As designers, is there a particular vision that you have for your label, Karleo?
As designers we make sure we offer our clients exactly what they want as a bride. Our aim is to make the brides dream come through with her wedding gown. We ensure high quality of craftsmanship along with accessories and styling tips for the bride. It’s a one stop shop for every bride.
What was your inspiration for the new ‘White Symphony’ collection?
White Symphony is for the modern bride. It reflects harmony between faiths, and the growing norm of interfaith wedded bliss. In this bridal collection, stark, pristine white makes way for other hues, with accents of crimson, emerald, vermillion and black representing different faiths. Celebrating bespoke bridal creations, the collection includes bird motifs as symbols of customised elements in bridal wear that truly mirrors a bride’s personality.
Do you personally believe the collection also breaks stereotypes attached to white weddings and the outfits traditionally worn by brides?
The idea is to provide the bride with designs that complement her along with being comfortable. Brides want to experiment these days and are willing to opt for different styles and even use color for a white wedding.

How did you conceptualise this collection?
Our design ethic has always worked on contrasting factors. We love to combine the odds with evens. White Symphony is a derivative from our clients and people we end up meeting. It reflects a combination of different cultures, and blending it well to create a piece. Over the past year, we have had a lot of inter faith weddings, which was the inspiration behind the creation of white symphony.
Do you think the audience is more open to experimenting with their bridal outfits, compared to, say five years back?
Yes! The audience is willing to experiment with their gowns. Every bride wants her outfit to tell a story, which is weaved in through different memories of their existence.
What has been the most bizarre or hilarious demand that a client has ever made?
We had a bride once make an entire black bridal gown, since the color black was a symbol of safety and security for her.

| The duo behind Karleo - Karan Berry and Leon Vaz |
Any tips for brides this season / Any particular Dos and Don’ts that you share with your clients, especially brides, very often.
Incorrect shoes is a major faux pas. Wearing a wedge platform shoe with an evening gown is a complete no-no. It changes the way you walk and completely spoil the look. It’s not important to wear high heels with a gown but, heels do help you to walk gracefully. It maybe a small thing but it makes a huge difference. Personally, we feel shoes are the most important thing. You have to know what kind will go well with your outfit. It can break or make the look. Also, accessories should always be used in the right proportion.
What are your predictions for the next season, SS 17 and for Summer brides?
Trends are tilting more towards the simplest classic styles and colours. The old school charm is back in its true sense without it being altered. The trends will come from our childhood memories of fashion, which we saw growing up. Long Sleeves are definitely here to stay. Pinafore dress is coming back. Classic evening wear with more focus to detailing (stitching, beading etc) is also making a come back.

A Weaver of Dreams | Exclusive Interview - Sabyasachi Mukherjee
We are yet to come across any woman who hasn't confessed that she would love to be a 'Sabyasachi Bride' on her big day. Ace designer Sabyasachi, who pioneered the use of Indian textiles by using unusual fabrics, gorgeous embellishments and diverse colour palettes, is back with a showcase to remember at the ongoing Lakmè Fashion Week W/F 2016. As the grand finale designer, Sabyasachi is ready to bring out the best of evening wear for the festive season, with all things shimmer and shine, at an off site show that will be held at Mehboob Studios this Sunday.
On a sunny Tuesday afternoon, we caught up with Sabyasachi in between long hours at fittings, that had ensured some major hubbub. Unfazed by it all, we saw the designer quietly concentrating on his work, all this while being under the weather. But, the designer ensured that our conversation would be a memorable one. And, it sure was. Excerpts from our exclusive chat with the award winning designer:
Several fans and fashionistas wait with bated breath for your showcase. What can they look forward to at the Lakmè Fashion Week Grand Finale?
The finale always has to be larger than life. So, I have done an extensive collection, which is going to be both Indian and western at the same time. Silhouettes shall range from short, micro mini cocktail dresses to stately sarees and lehengas. It's all evening wear, based on the theme - Illuminate and Shine, as you wear shimmer and shine mostly at night. The collection will be broken into different stories, and there will also be a big performance by the Symphony of India Orchaestra. All this, at a wide and big set.
What do you have to say about the theme for this season - Illuminate?
India loves bling and shimmer. As we are moving towards the festive season, this theme is very well timed. In fact, we were independently planning to do a clothing line based on shimmer. We do a lot of traditional outfits and there was a need to break in to the market for cocktail clothing. So, when Lakmè approached me, asking if I would like to be the finale designer and informed that the theme would be Illuminate and Shine, I said why not! Both minds aligned at the same place and things just got easier.
Your thoughts on the all new Lakmè Absolute Illuminate range.
The make up range is extremely beautiful. You see, India tends to go either too glossy or very iridescent with make up. Illuminate is a softer take on gloss, and I think it will look much nicer on Indian skin. I personally feel that the Indian skin looks very nice with a little bit of a wet sheen or humid gloss. So, it's going to be perfect for us.
It's been more than a decade since you were discovered. How have you seen Lakmè Fashion Week and the designers involved change over the years?
Had I been discovered a decade later, I don't know if I would even stand a chance among these kids. When I came into fashion week, I did not know what a look book was and didn't even have a line sheet. I don't even know if I had prices on my outfits, leave alone tags (smiles). I wasn't even aware about the process of meeting buyers, nor did I have a laptop on me. In fact, when I got discovered, I had called my parents from a PCO. Everyone was saying great things about me, and the call dropped. So, I didn't even own a cellphone. Today, when I look at the kids, they are way smarter and organised. They have had a more aggressive education as compared to us. I have witnessed a big evolution.
What do you have to say about the melange of technology and fashion that we get to see these days?
The fact that we chose to showcase our couture collection on Instagram should tell you how much we respect technology. We have an entire social media team working for us. It's a medium that should be used to streamline, grow and democratise your business. I don't agree with the fact that technology should be used in design. As the world gets more and more globalised, people will ultimately come to you for handcrafted things. So, you can still produce handcrafted items, but retain the market through technology.
What are your thoughts on the Ministry of Textiles and Hon. minister Smriti Irani's #IWearHandloom initiative on social media?
It's a fantastic initiative. I have always said that we have a lot to celebrate in this country, but we only celebrate when the west has given us a validation. It's time that India discovers itself before the west discovers us. When somebody with a strong political will can inspire an entire nation to think Indian, it's a fantastic opportunity for all of us.
Since the wedding season is just around the corner, several fans wanted your comment on the top trends for brides.
Personally, I would always recommend that you don't think about trends. That's just not the correct way to shop for your wedding. Trends are transient, so your wedding outfits will become irrelevant in years to come. Your wedding album should stay on with you for the rest of your life. So, follow tradition and wear red & gold.
What's your trend forecast for Spring / Summer 2017?
A lot of pink pastels, monochromes and ombrè. Also, there will be lots of long, linear columns in monotones. Or, you go for something super contrast and sporty.

Tarun Tahiliani’s showcase at the India Couture Week left us in awe. The ace designer paid a homage to Indian courtesans with a showcase complete with grandeur and elegance. Titled ‘The Last Dance of the Courtesan’, Tahiliani’s rich and exquisite collection had outfits in hues of sunset ombre, yellows, reds and oranges on fabrics ranging from georgette, cotton jacquard to cotton silk, crepes and more.
But it wasn’t just the contemporary collection that took our breath away. We loved how the make up broke monotony and went with hues of glamorous gold to compliment the traditional bridal wear hues seen on the runway. If you are someone who wants to ditch the typical bridal make up, for a more modern and glamorous look, we’ve got you covered with a step-by-step tutorial using MAC cosmetics! Here’s how you can achieve the look, created by popular MUA Mickey Contractor and sported by models at the Tarun Tahiliani showcase.
Start with MAC Fix+, an aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calming blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. It adds radiance and helps prepare the skin
Use the Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel, an ultra-light formula that intensely hydrates and leaves skin more supple and luminous
Next apply the Prep + Prime Moisture Infusion, a lightweight serum that saturates the skin with a concentrated boost of hydration
Correct and Conceal using the Pro Conceal and Correct Palette
Use the Select Sheer Pressed Powder, a lightweight pressed powder with a silky, natural matte finish and a soft-focus effect
Sculpt the face by using the Shadester Sculpting Powder and then finish off the cheeks by applying the Mocha lipstick
For the eyes use the Sketch and Rice Paper Eye Shadow along with the Chromagraphic Pencil
Use Lash No. 7 for added drama and top it off with Haute & Naughty Mascara for extra volume
Line the lips with Strip Down Lip Pencil and fill them in with Amber Lights Eye Shadow & Reflects Gold Glitter
So, are you all set to go gold and glamorous during the upcoming festive and wedding season?

She came, she walked the ramp and won a million hearts once again. Deepika Padukone took the internet by storm with her Persian Princess avatar at the India Couture Week on Thursday. The actress turned showstopper for designer Manish Malhotra, whose collection 'A Persian Story' received accolades from several fashion critics and enthusiasts from across the globe.
With the wedding season coming up towards the end of this year, we are quite sure several brides will be taking notes while browsing through images from the ongoing ICW. But, for those who can't get enough of Deepika's look (and fans of everything that she does) or the one sported by the models on the runway during the showcase, get set to bookmark this post.
Start with Fix+ (also one of our favourite products. Our editor swears by it). The product adds radiance and helps prepare the skin.
Next, apply the Studio Moisture Fix SPF 15, a non-greasy formula that plumps, softens and protects the skin from sun and external elements.
Correct and Conceal using the Pro Conceal and Correct Palette
Use the Select Sheer Pressed Powder, a lightweight pressed powder with a silky, natural matte finish and a soft-focus effect
Contour and blush the cheeks by using Spirit Lipstick
Apply Pro Shine Mixing Medium on the eyelids for your base
For the eyes use Feline Kohl Eye Pencil, Blacktrack Fluidline and Embark Eyeshadow
Use Lash No. 7 for added drama
Line the lips with Soar Lip Pencil and finally, fill them in with Cosmo Lipstick (used only on the models. Not on Deepika Padukone).
There you go! Get set to dazzle like Deepika Padukone at the next big fat Indian wedding.
