Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's fairytale wedding at a heritage property in Tuscany is all over our timelines. The duo, who got married at a private ceremony in Italy on Monday, looked every inch a power couple in love. Right from the dreamy set up to the stunning outfits, every detail grabbed a lot of eyeballs. The couple chose to announce their big day with a post on their respective social media accounts and needless to say, platforms like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook went crazy with constant RTs, reposts and shares. In fact, Kohli's post on Instagram went on to become the fastest to reach 1 million likes in less than a hour.

Ace fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee was roped in to design the wedding ensemble for both the bride and groom. We couldn't take our eyes off Sharma's blush pink lehenga, chosen for the wedding ceremony. Sabyasachi's idea was to chose a colour that would perfectly blend in with surroundings of Tuscany, rather than stand out. The blush pink outfit with tropical flora and fauna was hand embroidered in silk floss. Exotic birds and butterflies were rendered with needle craft. And, guess how many karigars worked on Sharma's lehenga? 67! Yes, you read that right. 67 karigars worked over a period of 32 days to create this stunning ensemble. Beautiful jadau jewellery (handcrafted in uncut diamonds, pearls and pale pink spinel), minimal make up and a neat up do, perfectly set with flowers, completed her look.
On the wedding day, the bride and groom complimented each other, as they chose hues of ivory, blush pink and gold for their respective outfits. The floral theme dominated, right from the set up to outfits and even the bidaai ritual, where family members were seen showering Sharma with rose petals all around.
For her Mehendi ceremony, Sharma wanted a colourful outfit. Sabyasachi created a boho look, full of colours. We absolutely love the graphic lehenga in fuchsia pink and Indian orange (mango shade might ring a bell). The outfit is handprinted by famous Kolkata based block printers and hand embroidered with gota and marori.
At the engagement ceremony, one couldn't help but fall in love with the vintage vibes all around. Sharma was keen on wearing a velvet saree. The designer chose to create it in their signature Gulkand burgundy hue. The saree was hand embroidered using miniature pearls, zardosi and marori. The look was accessorised with a stunning uncut diamond and pearl choker, with matching studs. Minimal make up, kohl rimmed eyes, a neat bun with perfectly set red roses and a bindi completed Sharma's lovely vintage look.

In a joint statement released yesterday, Sharma and Kohli said - “Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share this wonderful news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.” The couple will be hosting a reception in New Delhi for their relatives on December 21, which will be followed by a reception for industry friends and cricketers in Mumbai on December 26.

Festive / Wedding Special Look Book + Make Up Tutorial | Feat MAC Cosmetics
Seasons greetings to one and all! Tis' the festival of lights, joy, happiness and warmth. We hope you've had a wonderful Diwali weekend with your loved ones, making each moment a memorable one. While on one side, we have got festivities on in full swing, we are also ushering in the wedding season, which will be at it's peak in the coming months. The last season (early 2016) was an important one for most friends, as they tied the knot and welcomed a new phase in their lives. Once again, the time to celebrate great Indian weddings is upon us and most of us can do with all the inspiration possible to look elegant (and get some good pictures with our besties, while we are at it). So, I recently created this simple Indian festive / wedding special look using products by MAC Cosmetics (including a few products from their festive range). Read on to get a step-by-step tutorial to achieve this look.
Look: The Festive Emerald - Gold Eye
Step 1 - Face: Start off by hydrating your skin with a moisturiser. With winter setting in, you definitely don't want any dry skin patches. Then, add a few spritz of MAC Prep + Prime Fix+
Step 2 - Foundation: Use a foundation brush and apply MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 foundation. I use the shade NC 40. Blend well, to ensure you get a natural finish. Since I also have a slightly oily T-zone, I used the MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation to set a few areas.
Step 3 - Concealer - Use a concealer to cover blemishes, if any. I used the MAC Select Cover Up for the spots, in NC 35.
Step 4 - Eyes: Start off by contouring the eye with Embark (eyeshadow - part of the Light Festival Eye Shadow x 9 palette). Tightly line the eyes with Modern Twist Kajal Liner in Squid. Next, use Embark again; this time to the outer corner of the eye. Smudge it slightly for a soft, smoky look (optional). Use Amber Lights (a soft gold eye shadow, part of the same palette) across the lid. Then, use Humid (a gorgeous emerald eye shadow in the palette) on the lower lash line and smudge it out slightly for a dramatic, smoky green effect (optional). Lastly, curl your lashes and apply a coat of MAC Haute and Naughty mascara. Since I didn't want to opt for a heavily smoky look, I smudged Embark and Humid a little less, and highlighted my eyes more using Amber Lights.
Step 5 - Brows: Groom your eyebrows well. I used the MAC Eye Brows Pencil (mechanical) in Stylized.
Step 6: Cheeks - Use Powder Blush in Pinch Me to add a subtle, flushed cheeks effect. Apply a bit of MAC mineralize skin finish in Soft & Gentle for a soft yet glamorous highlight.
Step 7: Lips - Hydrate your lips a few minutes before using the lipstick (use a good non-scented / flavoured lip balm). Then, outline your lips using MAC lip pencil in Cranberry, and finish with lipstick Mehr (matte).
Step 8: Finally, a light spritz of MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ is all you need to seal your make up and look festive / wedding ready!
For accessories, I chose a pair of traditional jhumkas (originally from Chennai). Since the outfit had some interesting pearl embroidery on the neck and collar, I did not opt for any necklace. Instead, I opted for a ring bracelet, which added an ethnic touch to the overall look. For those who don't own a pair of jhumkas, a pair of statement earrings would also work. You can also chose some unique finger rings or other accessories for your hand, especially if your outfit is sleeveless.

Runway to Real | Go Gold like the Models at Tarun Tahiliani's ICW 2016 Showcase

Tarun Tahiliani’s showcase at the India Couture Week left us in awe. The ace designer paid a homage to Indian courtesans with a showcase complete with grandeur and elegance. Titled ‘The Last Dance of the Courtesan’, Tahiliani’s rich and exquisite collection had outfits in hues of sunset ombre, yellows, reds and oranges on fabrics ranging from georgette, cotton jacquard to cotton silk, crepes and more.
But it wasn’t just the contemporary collection that took our breath away. We loved how the make up broke monotony and went with hues of glamorous gold to compliment the traditional bridal wear hues seen on the runway. If you are someone who wants to ditch the typical bridal make up, for a more modern and glamorous look, we’ve got you covered with a step-by-step tutorial using MAC cosmetics! Here’s how you can achieve the look, created by popular MUA Mickey Contractor and sported by models at the Tarun Tahiliani showcase.
Start with MAC Fix+, an aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calming blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. It adds radiance and helps prepare the skin
Use the Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel, an ultra-light formula that intensely hydrates and leaves skin more supple and luminous
Next apply the Prep + Prime Moisture Infusion, a lightweight serum that saturates the skin with a concentrated boost of hydration
Correct and Conceal using the Pro Conceal and Correct Palette
Use the Select Sheer Pressed Powder, a lightweight pressed powder with a silky, natural matte finish and a soft-focus effect
Sculpt the face by using the Shadester Sculpting Powder and then finish off the cheeks by applying the Mocha lipstick
For the eyes use the Sketch and Rice Paper Eye Shadow along with the Chromagraphic Pencil
Use Lash No. 7 for added drama and top it off with Haute & Naughty Mascara for extra volume
Line the lips with Strip Down Lip Pencil and fill them in with Amber Lights Eye Shadow & Reflects Gold Glitter
So, are you all set to go gold and glamorous during the upcoming festive and wedding season?
