Celebrity Style Files | Kareena Kapoor Khan for Vikram Phadnis

When the organisers of the ongoing Shop Qatar Festival 2018 decided to host a Bollywood themed fashion show, they were pretty sure that they wanted none other than the diva - Kareena Kapoor Khan. The actress was roped in as the show stopper for designer Vikram Phadnis. With this, she became the first Bollywood superstar to walk the ramp in Doha. The event was held at Mondrian Doha, West Bay yesterday.
Last evening, Bebo charmed the audience with her stunning appearance in a dull peach lehanga. Her gorgeous outfit, complete with an embroidered choli and matching dupatta, was just perfect to give several to-be brides major style goals during the upcoming wedding season.
The intricate gold detailing and motifs stood out, as Kareena gracefully walked the ramp. A neat bun, natural finished look with dark, heavily kohl-ed eyes and nude lips completed her look. We love how the look is perfectly accessorised with a pair of studded chandbalis, necklace, ring and maang tikaa.
A source close to the event said that Phadnis has designed five ensembles for Kareena to choose from. While he is keen on her wearing a red and burgundy lehenga he has designed, Bebo preferred the dull peachy tones. A few minutes before walking the ramp, Kareena was visibly excited. She said, “I am excited to walking the ramp. Also, looking forward to interacting with my fans here."
What are your thoughts on Bebo's show stopping moment at the fashion show in Doha?

Celebrity Style Files - Wedding Edition | Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's fairytale wedding at a heritage property in Tuscany is all over our timelines. The duo, who got married at a private ceremony in Italy on Monday, looked every inch a power couple in love. Right from the dreamy set up to the stunning outfits, every detail grabbed a lot of eyeballs. The couple chose to announce their big day with a post on their respective social media accounts and needless to say, platforms like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook went crazy with constant RTs, reposts and shares. In fact, Kohli's post on Instagram went on to become the fastest to reach 1 million likes in less than a hour.

Ace fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee was roped in to design the wedding ensemble for both the bride and groom. We couldn't take our eyes off Sharma's blush pink lehenga, chosen for the wedding ceremony. Sabyasachi's idea was to chose a colour that would perfectly blend in with surroundings of Tuscany, rather than stand out. The blush pink outfit with tropical flora and fauna was hand embroidered in silk floss. Exotic birds and butterflies were rendered with needle craft. And, guess how many karigars worked on Sharma's lehenga? 67! Yes, you read that right. 67 karigars worked over a period of 32 days to create this stunning ensemble. Beautiful jadau jewellery (handcrafted in uncut diamonds, pearls and pale pink spinel), minimal make up and a neat up do, perfectly set with flowers, completed her look.
On the wedding day, the bride and groom complimented each other, as they chose hues of ivory, blush pink and gold for their respective outfits. The floral theme dominated, right from the set up to outfits and even the bidaai ritual, where family members were seen showering Sharma with rose petals all around.
For her Mehendi ceremony, Sharma wanted a colourful outfit. Sabyasachi created a boho look, full of colours. We absolutely love the graphic lehenga in fuchsia pink and Indian orange (mango shade might ring a bell). The outfit is handprinted by famous Kolkata based block printers and hand embroidered with gota and marori.
At the engagement ceremony, one couldn't help but fall in love with the vintage vibes all around. Sharma was keen on wearing a velvet saree. The designer chose to create it in their signature Gulkand burgundy hue. The saree was hand embroidered using miniature pearls, zardosi and marori. The look was accessorised with a stunning uncut diamond and pearl choker, with matching studs. Minimal make up, kohl rimmed eyes, a neat bun with perfectly set red roses and a bindi completed Sharma's lovely vintage look.

In a joint statement released yesterday, Sharma and Kohli said - “Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share this wonderful news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.” The couple will be hosting a reception in New Delhi for their relatives on December 21, which will be followed by a reception for industry friends and cricketers in Mumbai on December 26.

Ethnic Indian Summer | Outfit Post (Summer Wedding Special)
Come April / May and the wedding season kick starts again (especially among Maharashtrians. Everybody loves a Summer wedding). Back to back weddings create a sense of nervousness among girlfriends of the bride, especially those who find it difficult to create different looks for each event. Add to that, the ever rising temperature, which leaves you feeling drained out after running around, performing errands, in your stunning wine red lehanga-choli or a studded anarkali. While the outfit - climate woes can't be helped, one can definitely play it smart by opting for lighter, comfortable fabrics, experimenting with colors and more.
I wore this outfit for my morning Birthday pooja and then, attended a small engagement party just after that. Since the heat wave in Ahmednagar (Shirdi) was unbearable, I stayed away from weighty fabrics or anything that is heavily embellished. There is no rule book that says your outfit needs to be all blingy and glamorous. Personally, comfort comes above everything else for me and I believe that one can surely create an impact by choosing the right outfit (that fits well and looks unique) and perfect accessories.
For afternoon wedding / engagement events like the one I attended, opt for lighter hues like pastels. If darker hues are your thing, mix and match it with a lighter shade of dupatta or if you are eyeing a complete set, opt for something in Ombre, like the one I chose. Let go of the typical reds and maroons. Experiment with shades like Persian or navy blue, lime green or even a blush pink. For a hint of bling, you can add basic accessories in light gold, silver or even bronze, depending on your overall outfit color. Keep your favorite, heavy gold and diamond sets away for the evening events. While I mixed gold and silver shades in this outfit, you can go for a complete silver look or even experiment by adding oxidized accessories. I did not opt for a neck piece, as I wanted the gorgeous mirror work on the neckline to get all the attention. While there is no footwear in these images (as it was clicked just before the pooja), I opted for a pair of mojris with mirror work. Oh, and don't forget a pair of stylish sunnies!
Five things to keep in mind while shopping for an afternoon wedding/engagement event:
- Look for lighter, comfortable fabrics (you don't want your outfit to itch, do you?)
- Experiment with fresh colors
- Look for outfits that create an impact with unique hand work (embroidery, mirror, flower motifs etc)
- Don't over-accessorize the outfit
- Experiment with the silhouettes and sleeve styles. It will further enhance your overall look

And above everything else, just be comfortable in what you wear. There is nothing more important than being yourself and letting your personality speak in the outfit that you opt for.
