Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Pharrell Williams - Celebrity Style Files

While one is a global HipHop sensation, the other is one of India's favourite B-town superstar. One creates ripples in the world of Rap, while the other leaves us stunned, every time she makes an appearance on the red carpet. Well, if you haven't guessed this one already, we are talking about Pharrell Williams and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The rocking duo have graced the cover of Vogue India this month, and needless to say, this photo shoot is 'lit'.

The cover story spread features Aishwarya in a gorgeous avatar, sporting some über chic looks, with the perfect attitude and panache! Ditto Pharrell, who is seen in some colourful outfits, most of which come from his latest collaboration with Adidas Originals - Hu Holi. Both the artists have been styled by Anaita Adajania Shroff, while the stunning images have been shot by Greg Swales.
As part of the cover story, the former Miss World talks about a variety of topics - ranging from life as a mother, her upcoming film - Fanney Khan, her thoughts on social media and more. "I spend all my time with Aaradhya, and I have one nanny, by choice. I read comments saying, “Ah, she must have an army of help” and I understand the perception, but I choose this way, which means life is always busy. I respect homemakers for the endless work they do," she adds, while talking about her busy schedule. The actress also confessed that she isn't completely averse to social media as such. "I do recognise its value, and if I feel the need I’ll embrace it—transparently and honestly," stated Aishwarya.
Pharrell, on the other side, talks about why music that comes with a message isn't a bad idea after all. "It doesn’t need to but it’s good that it does. I think everything we do should have some sort of message or intention, or else it’s just wasted energy,” he said.

If the excerpts are anything to go by, the cover story does look like an insightful conversation, which can make for a good read! Also, full props to the folks behind this photoshoot, as they got together two global icons, who are hitmakers in their own league! Our favourite image? This one, featuring Aish in a striking Balmain jacket and Tee, paired with Zara denims, while Pharrell keeps it cool in Adidas Originals. Love the vibe!

Vogue School of Style | Event
Fashionistas from across the city were invited for a 'stylish' evening at 'Tote on the Turf'. Vogue India and Allen Solly organized a wonderful event called 'School of Style', where the Vogue team conducted several sessions related to Fashion and Beauty. This is how I spent my Monday evening, with fellow fashion lovers.
| Pre - event preparations: Vogue school of style at Tote on the Turf, Mahalakshmi Race course |
After appetizers and drinks, the event started with Vogue fashion features editor Priyanka Khanna telling us about the 'School of Style'. Priyanka Kapadia (Jr. Fashion editor) then took on from there and discussed wardrobe essentials, must have accessories, how to shop smart amongst others.

Several other styles like 'Quirky prints', 'Party', 'Classic', 'Ethnic' were discussed. Each style was presented with an outfit, to show how certain accessories and prints can be matched to create the perfect look. Both Priyanka Kapadia and Priyanka Khanna then gave us tips on how just one item from the wardrobe can spruce up an outfit. Be it a chunky belt, stacked up bracelets, or even their favourite - metallic clutch.
It was then time for the Beauty editor, Parizaad Khan, to make a small presentation on beauty tips and summer skin care. She also discussed spring - summer 2013's hottest make up trends. Parizaad said that investing in a multi-purpose lip, eye, and cheek stain is a good option. She also suggested many other products that you may want to consider adding to your make up bag - Cleansing water, Dry shampoo, Primer etc. This was followed by the last Q and A session, where audience members got a chance to get their fashion and beauty related queries answered by the Vogue team. The clock struck 9 and it was time to wrap up the session. Priyanka Khanna thanked everyone on behalf of the Vogue team, for attending the 'School of Style' class.
Thus, a wonderful evening came to an end. A big thank you to Vogue India for a fun evening.

Instagram-ming!
I joined the 'Instagram' bandwagon a few months ago and I must say, it's good fun. It's like a mini glimpse into my life through pictures (which I believe speak louder than words). Books I'm reading right now, stuff I buy and sometimes, just simple random stuff.
I got these books from Crossword last week. I am a huge fan of Marquez and loved his book 'Love in the time of cholera'. Hence, I decided to buy 'One hundred years of solitude'. The title of the other book in this picture, 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai', was interesting enough for me to buy it (and as I have started reading it, I can tell you it surely is). I've managed to catch up on some 'Magazine reading time', which I really love.
On my last trip to Infinity Mall (Malad), I finally managed to check out the products at Kiehl's. Their staff is super sweet (especially the two people, Shahzad and Deepti, who helped me out) and made me go through their entire 'skin analysis' process before buying anything. They suggested a couple of products and gave me samples of the same, to check if it suits my skin. Must say, I love the toner and the sunscreen. I got the Kiehl's cranberry lip balm #1 for myself and oh boy! I'm loving it.
The HUL team sent this to us last week. I'm loving the Keratinology range and the Spa mask is too good. The Sunsilk Keratinology range has advanced products for intense repair and coloured hair. I use the mask once a week and you guys can definitely take my word for it. Its really good!
I've always been a 'Bus' person. For five years, I travelled to college in a bus because I never felt the need to keep changing my mode of transport. But my new college is a little far and train travelling makes things easier. Although I end up travelling by Central or Harbour line from college to home, this one was clicked from the train on the Western line when I wanted to get down at Lower Parel for some work. So many things have changed, but these platforms just don't! Before coming up with new modes of transport, can the railways please do something about the state of their platforms, please?
Well, these were a couple of pictures that I uploaded on Instagram!
