Valentines Day
Love Struck
As winter transcends to spring, the month of February is already upon us (wow! almost a fortnight done). Needless to say, the month is synonymous with the feeling of being love! With blooming flowers, tropical vibes and a tinge of red all around; one can't miss the whiff of love in the air. Promises, roses and moments of mushy-ness. The endless list of date night ideas. Updates and posts that follow. Nothing can match upto the feeling of being in love. Sigh! It's wonderful, isn't it?
But, have you looked at yourself in the mirror, and showered some words of compliments? A subtle, "You look wonderful today," from a special someone creates a flutter in our stomach, doesn't it? How about we tweak things a bit and say this to ourselves, just once in a while? Learning to love yourself and being comfortable in one's skin is the most liberating and beautiful feeling. When no one stands by, you have yourself. When all else fails, you can motivate yourself. No one can love you better, if you fail to love yourself first. So, stop being harsh and learn to love! This valentine's day, give yourself some much needed love. Compliment yourself, and smile. Don't wait for someone else to make a difference! Love thy self fiercely, folks. So much, that when others see you, they know exactly how it should be done.
This one's for the person who makes me smile! You know who you are. Love and light, always ❤️
Here's wishing the entire #DancebeeFam a very Happy Valentine's Day! Hope you had a great time with your loved one, and shall always continue to do so.

7 Reasons Why Opposites Attract | Relationships
“Opposites attract, and I think temperament is so fundamental that you end up craving someone of the opposite temperament to complete you.” – Susan Cain
As believers of the scientifically proven theory that opposites do attract, we completely swear by American writer Cain’s belief. And not just us. One look at some of our favorite Bollywood couples, and you will realise that the most successful relationships have had couples with personalities that are poles apart. What’s a relationship without some sugar and spice? Nobody likes ‘em all sweet or spicy anyway. After all, even a 2013 research by Columbia University has proved that couples who agree with each other all the time may find that they are actually too close for comfort. Nah! We would prefer to keep it exciting instead.
Don’t believe us? Well, we give you 7 reasons why opposites attract and that too, for good!
- Curiosity: Living with someone who is exactly like you may initially seem like a better option, but wouldn't it be like living with yourself? Being intrigued and then, getting to know something new about your partner’s personality sounds like a much better idea. There is so much more to life than just knowing what you already do.
- Learning: When opposites attract, there is a lot of scope for learning and teaching one another. Both the individuals have had experiences to share and mistakes to learn from. It’s great to grow together and learn from each other.
- No Overlaps: If you like watching films, he may love going out for a long drive. Which means, both of you can indulge in activities without major overlaps (or fights over control of the television remote). Isn’t that convincing enough?
- Motivation: Each partner may excel in something that the other may not [For eg: Jai is a geek and Preeti has an undying zest for life, ]. As a result, you learn something new and motivate each other to perform better in the activity, thus giving you the best of both worlds.
- Explore: If he loves traveling and you love discovering new music artists everyday, could it get any better? There will be tons of new cities and countries to explore, and a variety of playlists that will keep the two of you hooked on for days to come. Your respective interests will help you discover something new every day.
- Balance: Imagine two people, both hot headed and super frustrated in general, all set to quarrel over a petty issue? Run for your lives already, folks! In relationships that work, balance is the key. A hot headed individual needs a ‘captain cool’, who can do the job of solving the issue efficiently.
- Excitement: You will always be excited to know more about your partner and his personality. Be it the way he/she shops or discusses movies; each day shall spring new surprises. There ain’t no room for boredom, fellas! The perfect recipe for happiness in a relationship is a serious dose of excitement.
When we stumbled upon the first few episodes of SonyLIV’s latest offering – Lost & Found, our faith in this age old concept of relationships was restored. The perfect tale of unexpected love, where opposites attract in the most bizarre turn of incidents. One look at this web series and you can’t help but agree - when opposites attract, happy ending toh banta hain boss!

Valentine's Day Make Up and Outfit Tutorial | New Woman Magazine
February has been a 'lovely' month. Apart from being the month of love and happiness, it gave us a surprise in the form of a fun and exclusive editorial shot for one of India's leading lifestyle magazines - New Woman. Keeping in mind the demand for easy make up tutorials for a special date, the amazing team at New Woman invited me to work on a step-by-step date look guide, for both day and night. It is perfect for those who want to go the minimal way and keep it simple yet chic for a special occasion. In this post, I will be decoding a special Valentine's Day date look, for a lunch date or day out with your loved one.
Step One: Spray a facial mist on your face to let the make-up stay longer. I prefer using the MAC FixIt+. Two light pumps are enough to keep your face hydrated.
Step Two: Start with the base. I have mixed two shades of Revlon Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation - Fresh Beige and Shell. Mix a small quantity of both the shades and with the help of a brush, spread it evenly all over your face. Ensure that your face looks even and natural (we don't need a cakey look).
Step Three: Time to conceal blemishes and those pesky dark circles. I prefer using the concealer after using the foundation (tip: it helps save a lot of your product). Mark those blemishes and areas that you want to conceal. Blend it well with a blending brush or sponge. I have used the L'Oreal True Match concealer.
Step Four: Use some pressed powder foundation to set the base, and to ensure that there is no trace of sweat or grime. I have used the MAC Studio Fix pressed powder. Ensure you use it well on the t-zone with the help of a powder brush. You can skip this step if you feel your base is perfect and doesn't need a final touch up.
Step Five: Pick an eyeshadow hue that matches your outfit well. I chose a maple shade from the Sleek Matte Eyeshadow palette and applied it with the help of a brush. It was blended well with a silvery white shade from the same palette. I use my index finger for blending. You can use a brush as well. Tap off any excess shadow.
Step Six: Use a liquid eyeliner and wing it in a unique way. Split the ends of your wing into two, creating a twig. I have used the Lakmé Absolute Gloss Artist in black. The tip of this liquid liner is perfect for experiments. You can keep the line thick or thin, according to your preference. Add a little eyeliner on the inner corner of the eyes to open them up and to prevent your eyes from looking too pale.
Step Seven: Work some mascara. I have used two swipes of my favourite - MAC Haute and Naughty Mascara, which comes in a dual-wiper system. I have used the defined brush here, to add a more natural look.
Step Eight: Use a brow pencil and fill your brows well. Likewise, you can also use an eyeshadow that matches the shade of your brow hair and fill them in.
Step Nine: For my lips, I chose Clinique Chubby Stick in Pudgy Peony, which is a nice fuchsia pink. You can add a tinge of red and blend the two colours as well. I prefer blending this shade with Lakme's Absolute Gloss Addict in Red Delight.
Step Ten: Use a blush that matches your skin type and complexion. I like both cream and powder based blushes, but for this look, I chose the Clinique Blushing Blush Powder Blush. With the help of a blush brush, apply it in an angular motion, blending from the apples of the cheeks towards the temples.
Step Eleven: Use an anti-frizz leave in on your hair to ensure there are no unwanted flyaways or frizz. Set it with the help of a paddle brush and blow dry it gently, or you can choose to keep it natural. Leave your hair open and accessorise it with a chic hairband.
And there you go! All set for a lunch date with your loved one (or even a fun day out with your girl friends). We are huge fans of chic dresses that add some drama to an otherwise quiet afternoon date. Let us know how you like the look and if you will be trying it out this V-day. And do check out the full tutorial in the February issue of New Woman Magazine.

Valentines Day
Love Actually | India Circus
Tis' the season of love, they say. But in a world filled with so much hatred, can we afford just a day dedicated to love? Love can win any battle, topple over any form of hatred. Then why does it take time for us to acknowledge it and spread the happiness around? Spreading a little bit of love and happiness doesn't do much harm. And I am not restricting love to just certain relationships. There is so much more to it.
You can share some love with your parents, siblings, friends, a little kid living next door or even an elderly woman spotted outside a temple. A simple smile, exchange of loving words can really make someone's day. And no, it is not just restricted to humans. Go ahead and spend a fun day with your pet, or lovingly hug a stray dog after feeding him/her some biscuits. In fact, it can even be your favorite items ranging from bags, books, shoes to the best of apparel in your wardrobe. Keeping them in good condition is also a way of loving the stuff that you call your own and while shopping, you end up buying only the things that you love (unless you are someone who follows trends religiously).
And then, of course, you need to love yourself. Because even at a time when no one's there for you, you can look into the mirror and say, "Main apni favorite hoon." So, you see, love has no boundaries, really.
Speaking of love, the word is actually quite apt for this collaboration, because everything available on India Circus spells 'Pure Love'. Visit their website and get ready to fall in love with every single piece of apparel, accessories, stationary and home decor items. Their fun, stylish and colorful prints are hard to miss. Its a lot like love at first sight. If you set your eyes on any of India Circus' beautiful products, chances are that you might not want to leave the web-store without placing an order. One look at this Elephant Bath bag and I knew I had to order it. As for the pink ballet flats, they make for a versatile pair that can go well with a variety of looks, ranging from ethnic, classic, casual to bohemian. My work buddies - I am talking about the iPad and iPhone - couldn't have asked for better sleeves and cases. While the India Circus chromatic reminiscence phone case shows off my love for cinema very well, the melange of different hues on the colourful streamer iPad sleeve adds more joy to my email replying hours. Clearly, there is a lot to love here.
I am guessing the folks at India Circus also agree with my mantra of loving yourself. So much, that this Valentine's eve, they are offering assured gifts on purchase to all the singletons out there. See, being single ain't all that bad, after all. You can indulge in some retail therapy and tell yourself, "I am who I am and I love being me." They also have an exclusive curated section, where special curated products by India Circus Design Director, Krsna Mehta, can be purchased. There is something for everyone, so don't hesitate to fill your cart with multiple goodies for your loved ones (and maybe, acquaintances or strangers too). Here's to love, and the lovely burst of colours in India Circus products! Keep spreading the joy.
