Love Struck
As winter transcends to spring, the month of February is already upon us (wow! almost a fortnight done). Needless to say, the month is synonymous with the feeling of being love! With blooming flowers, tropical vibes and a tinge of red all around; one can't miss the whiff of love in the air. Promises, roses and moments of mushy-ness. The endless list of date night ideas. Updates and posts that follow. Nothing can match upto the feeling of being in love. Sigh! It's wonderful, isn't it?
But, have you looked at yourself in the mirror, and showered some words of compliments? A subtle, "You look wonderful today," from a special someone creates a flutter in our stomach, doesn't it? How about we tweak things a bit and say this to ourselves, just once in a while? Learning to love yourself and being comfortable in one's skin is the most liberating and beautiful feeling. When no one stands by, you have yourself. When all else fails, you can motivate yourself. No one can love you better, if you fail to love yourself first. So, stop being harsh and learn to love! This valentine's day, give yourself some much needed love. Compliment yourself, and smile. Don't wait for someone else to make a difference! Love thy self fiercely, folks. So much, that when others see you, they know exactly how it should be done.
This one's for the person who makes me smile! You know who you are. Love and light, always ❤️

The Double Denim
I have always been a huge fan of denim. Be it a jacket, pair of shorts, shirts, chinos or the good ol' jeans, denim is a wardrobe staple that I can't do without. While the classic denim with a crisp white shirt is my favorite go-to outfit, I have been loving the double denim trend this season. Unlike most other trends, the denim-on-denim look can be quite tricky. But if you put together your outfit carefully and choose the right piece of apparel, no one can stop you from looking like a million bucks. Be it the runway or a high street brand store, denim has been spotted everywhere this season and that too, in a variety of silhouettes, hues and finishes. Recently, we did a fun shoot with Nine West (more on that in the next paragraph) and while hunting for the right outfit, I came across this jacket at the Mango store. The moment I saw it, I knew I had to create a double denim look with this gorgeous piece. While I didn't want to opt for a head-to-toe denim outfit, I decided to break the outfit with a fun white T-shirt, that is perfect for summer.
The spring-summer 2015 collection at Nine West is every shoe and bag obsessed individual's delight. For this outfit, I was looking for something metallic and sporty. These super comfortable and stunning metallic slip ons caught my eye. These babies were just made for this outfit, and I think, a pair of footwear like this is perfect to wear while traveling from one state to another (basically, airport hopping), shopping with your friends or just hanging out for fun. I love how it adds some subtle glam to this look. As for the bag, I was desperately hunting for a backpack, but finally zeroed in on this beautiful (and spacious) light grey bag. Stock up on all your summer essentials in this one, because there is lots of room for everything.
You can give this look a sports-lux spin by replacing the t-shirt with a fun graphic or sports tee and then, trade those slip-ons for a pair of high top sneakers. Opt for a messy high pony tail, keep the make up clean (if you are not a fan of bold lips, go for a brown or nude shade) and keep it minimal on the accessories front, by just adding a chunky watch and a pair of aviators or retro lennon reflectors. Voila! You are ready to rock.
