Little Miss Sunshine!
"Happy girls are the prettiest. You are certainly one of them. But, let me remind you, that you are responsible for making several people around you look pretty everyday. Happy Birthday, little miss sunshine."
This simple message sent by a dear friend living across the seven seas (well, almost) was enough to make me smile on my birthday. There is nothing better than happiness, no matter how big or small the occasion is.
In this fast paced life, stress and teeny - weeny worries can easily take a toll on you. And that's when you realize that finding happiness in the smallest of things can bring a much needed smile on your face. It's not always that you need accessories or expensive items to brighten up your day. A simple, heartfelt smile and the will to spread happiness can make you prettier than any LV or Prada clad lady standing across the street.
Maybe, that's the reason why I love birthdays. Those who know me well will tell you how much I love them.
And when it comes down to my own, well, I love seeing happy faces everywhere and can't stop smiling myself.

Birthday Special | Favourite Day of the Year
Almost everyone knows how much I love birthdays. It is on this day that you were born, and two wonderful people in your life called you their 'little bundle of joy'. This year, my family and friends made sure it was a day week to remember. I am a big fan of surprises, and my friends almost made me cry with their awesomeness. My birthday week started off on an amazing note, with a 'Friends Day Out' at a suburban mall. From eating yummy food to having a blast at the gaming zone, we did it all and boy! It sure was good fun. I came back home with a smile that lasted through the week, and gifts that will stay with me for life.
Two days after the 'Early Birthday Party', my brother surprised me with something that I have been eyeing for a very, very long time. Yes, I am talking about the Apple iPad 4. Don't think I can thank him enough for this present, because I have been saving up for one since a really long time (student life, you see). As they say, sometimes happiness knocks on your door in the most unexpected ways.
I celebrated my birthday in the best way, ever. It was a special occasion, as Ram Navami fell on the same day and there were millions of people in Shirdi who were celebrating Lord Ram's birthday with great joy and elation. With birthday wishes pouring in from almost everywhere, beautiful darshan in the Saibaba samadhi temple, yummy cake, never ending Gujju thali, and a chance to sing Sai Bhajans in front of a huge audience; it truly was a day to remember.

But with all the happiness around, there were a few things that didn't work out the way I expected. My friends tried their best to keep me away from these 'bizarre turn of events', but the inevitable must happen and I got to know about it (mobile internet is to be blamed for that). My mood was all somber, and I was feeling low, that too on my Birthday. But then, I managed to come out of it. Life is a struggle and no matter how hard you work, you may not end up getting the reward that you deserve (in this case, it was not just me, but my friend too). There are ups and downs, and things go wrong. But in the end, what matters is that you gave your best shot at everything, with honesty and a clean heart.
It was during this time, that I realized, there are some people who will stand by you no matter what.
Thank you so much for everything, friends (you know who you are). Each one of you made my birthday week special in some way or the other. But more than that, you guys stood by me when I needed someone the most. Last but not the least, a big bear hug to my family. Such awesome people, I tell you!

Happy Birthday Shahid Kapoor
On this day thirty-two years back, on a pleasant Wednesday afternoon, a star was born. A little boy, who would go on to become a talented, humble and amazing human being. A star, whose shine would reach out to millions across the globe.
Falling in love with him is easy, and staying in love with him is a lot more easier. The man, whose killer looks and charming smile can make thousands of girls go weak in their knees. Despite going through major ups and downs in life, he successfully managed to come out of everything as a winner. His hard work is evident in almost all his films and stage performances. He can dance like a dream, and just like me, he worships the art form. Blessed with the perfect amount of humour, intelligence, good looks, style and charisma, the man is none other than Shahid Kapoor.
Happy Birthday to the man who is and shall always be my favourite India actor! Here's to many more accolades and fabulous performances in 2013.

Birthday Haircut | B:Blunt
I've always had this habit of getting a new haircut or if nothing, some styling, a few days before my birthday. And so once again, I stepped into B:blunt to get a haircut. My stylist has been the same for the past couple of years and each time I've had a haircut, he has never failed to give me a new look. A happy hair experience is always good for you. The pictures are not clear as they have been taken from my sister's phone, but I feel they look good anyway.
A short crop (like a bob) is something I wouldn't really go for, as I don't think it will suit my face cut. But the weather in Mumbai takes a toll on me every year and I cant help but for a shoulder length or for something slightly shorter than that (Honestly, I don't have the heart to go for any style shorter than that). I don't go to the salon with any style in my mind. I trust my stylist, Rohan from B:Blunt, enough to give me something that will look good on me (He does a wonderful job each time). So once again, a new summer hairstyle and a new look to flaunt is finally here!
PS: I love the decor at B:blunt! So chic and stylish.
