The Traditional Twist
I am not very fond of heavily embellished ethnic outfits. My all time favorite ethnic outfit has to be a simple and elegant lucknowi chikan suit or an elegant anarkali. I also love opting for collared kurtas in cotton. When an occasion demands something traditional, I usually opt for the simple Kurta - Churidaar look, albeit with a twist. Playing with colors and accessories is one such thing. Mixing colours is always fun, especially in summer. I recently did something similar, when I had to attend a morning Puja in Shirdi. And to add some extra fun, I wore my favourite pair of aviators along with it.
There are times when I just like to opt for a classic look. A simple outfit, pair of sunglasses, an elegant watch and I am ready to go. But experimenting with a dash of colors doesn't hurt, especially on a happy, sunny day (and more so, if it is your birthday morning). In this outfit, the pair of colorful earrings and the hint of neon green on my flat sandals broke the monotony of blue and pink.
So, the next time you go traditional, try moving away from the boring route and add a dash of colours to your plain Kurta - Churidaar look. But, don't over - accessorize the look. Stick to one stand out accessory, which can add some drama to your overall outfit. Keep the make - up minimal. I have only opted for a bright shade of pink matte lipstick and an eyeliner.

Waiting for my Harley...
Every individual has two sides (or at least that's what I think). People may think that they know you very well, but there is something that always springs up as a surprise. Most of my friends and acquaintances start off by thinking that I am this pink loving, choco - holic, lipstick hoarder; who loves her share of bags, shoes and all things girly. True, that is one side of my personality. But very few people know the gamer girl behind, who loves her daily dose of FIFA 14 and Grand Theft Auto V, watching and playing cricket as much as she dreams of zooming around in a Harley Davidson or Yamaha YZF - R1 some day.
Yeah, that!
Yeah, that!

Plaid-a-licious | Outfit Post
Before I start this post, on the auspicious occasion of Guru Poornima,
I would like to thank each and every Guru (teacher) in my life who have helped
me become the person that I am today. They include my school teachers, college teachers, dance gurus,
people who have inspired me, my parents, wonderful saints like Sant Tukaram,
Gyaneshwar maharaj, Swami Samarth etc and my beloved, Shri Saibaba of Shirdi. Without their blessings, I am incomplete. A guru is just like a
guide, without whom we tend to get confused and feel lost in this journey
called life. Hence, I would like to thank all my gurus for their contribution.
Happy Guru Poornima!
Now, let's move on to the post. Inspired by some of my favourite international bloggers, I decided to go for the 'No Smile' look. Most of my posts have the typical 'Priya' smile (like some of my friends say, I show off my dimples, which has not never been my intention). So for this post, I decided to keep 'that' smile away for the camera. I decided to ditch all my other shades for this classic blue pair of aviators from Ray ban that looks great with this outfit. Also, the accessories are minimal with just a pink ring on my hand and a tan belt.
After sometime, I decided to go in for a change of hairstyle
and came back with a side braid. My shoulder length hair made it quite a task
for my sister to try the side braid, but she managed it pretty well.
So, which hairstyle do you think looks good on this outfit?
Plaid shirts can be paired with almost anything (Denim jeans, Chinos, Shorts etc). You can also steal one from your Dad/Brother or Friend's wardrobe.
Make sure you don't overdo it. If you're wearing a plaid shirt, avoiding
adding anything else that has the same pattern. Try to pair it up with solid colours.
I am in love with Chinos, ever since I
picked up 2 pairs from Zara in April. They are extremely comfortable, gives me
a casual and semi formal look (depending on how I style it).

Thought I should share this with all of you, I am finally a graduate now!
A big thank you to everyone who prayed for me during my exams & also during those crazy, anxious post-exam moments. Here's to new beginnings and a brand new journey from here.
