Top 5 red carpet looks of 2012 - India

2012 is almost coming to an end. It was a good year for the red carpet divas, especially for those who are known to make several heads turn with their appearance. From award functions to events, these ladies quickly went on to win several hearts with their charisma and style.
Here's presenting five of my favorite Indian red carpet looks of 2012 (In no particular order).

1. Deepika Padukone at Screen awards

2012 was Deepika Padukone's year. With one box office hit, several brand endorsements and some fantastic red carpet appearances, Deepika became the hottest style icon of 2012.
At the Colors Screen awards, she charmed everyone in this teal Gauri and Nainika dress. With a boat neck,  stunning bareback and ruffles, this dress fitted Deepika's toned body like a dream. Minimal make up and fishtail braid gets a thumbs up! No wonder, the paparazzi keep humming 'Can't get enough', every time Deepika walks down the red carpet.

2. Nargis Fakhri at IIFA awards

Just one film old, Nargis Fakhri has become a red carpet favorite (or in this case, the green carpet) already. At the IIFA green carpet, she wore a simple blue chiffon saree with a stunning, heavily embellished metallic blouse by Anaikka. Accessories was kept minimal with just a clutch and cuff. With a dab of gloss and kajal, her simple make up and puffy hair do matched the look very well.

3. Anushka Sharma at Apsara awards

How pretty and sophisticated does Anushka Sharma look in this amazing saree by Sabyasachi? I love how her clutch matches the full sleeve embellished black blouse. The up-do and chic make up goes well with her outfit. Though not every fashionista may like the pink tulle in this saree, Anushka deserves some brownie points for carrying this look so well. And yes, the jewelry by Amrapali look beautiful.
Trés bien!

4. Chitrangada Singh at IIFA awards

Chitraganda Singh has got a decent fan following for her red carpet appearances in 2012.
At the IIFA green carpet, Chitrangada chose Gucci's azalea printed Pre fall 2012 gown. Oh boy, she looked stunning and how!
I love how she has kept the overall look minimal with just a clutch, tiny belt and earrings. The up-do and make up was perfect. I am looking forward to many more good red carpet appearances from Chitrangada in 2013.

5. Sonam Kapoor at Jab Tak Hai Jaan premiere

Sonam Kapoor has always tried to experiment with new things on the red carpet and has impressed fashion lovers with her quirky, chic and stylish avatar. She loves fashion and in turn, the fashion god loves her back. At the Jab tak hai jaan premiere, Sonam chose an elegant (and my favorite) Elie Saab Spring 2012 couture gown. She looks classy, sophisticated, and the hairdo looks amazing with this outfit. With emerald green earrings and a white clutch, Sonam made most of the actresses go 'white' with envy.

Which look is your favorite? Do let us know!

  1. Nice job! I had really liked them all!!
