Ariel Blogger event with Manish Malhotra and Mona Singh

It feels so good to get back home after a long day at College and actually end up taking time out for your blog. I know I've been MIA since quite a few days, but I must tell you all that I haven't been away from 'all' the action.
I was invited by Ariel (P&G), one of the leading detergent brands in India and across the globe, for a blogger's meet at J W Marriott, Mumbai last week. Although I've been swamped with a lot of assignments, it is also true that I have missed quite a few blogger meets in the past and I didn't really want to miss out on this one, primarily because I love meeting fellow bloggers and interacting with them. It's good fun when you fellow bloggers and talk about your blog, discuss things you like and gossip.
So, let's take a look at what all happened, what we discussed and how we posed!!!

Manish Malhotra, the brand ambassador of Ariel and Mona Singh were invited by the team to be a part of an interactive session with Fashion bloggers from Mumbai. The new campaign called "
My Story My Ariel" (MSMA) talks about the fact that everyone has a favorite piece of garment which is special to them. May be it’s their lucky shirt, or something which a loved one gifted.

Enter the amazing group of Mumbai fashion bloggers. I met some of them for the first time, but girls being girls after all, everyone got along really well. I had great fun with Amena from Fashionopolis, Ila from Flea Market Queen, Pallavi from ModaNinja, Charu from PickyC and the others.

I am sure you can make out how much fun we had, right? Post all the blogger group photo shoot, we were asked to take our seats as Manish and Mona were ready for the session.

After all the initial introduction about Ariel's new campaign, Manish started the session by asking us to introduce ourselves and was happy to know that some of us had 'very quirky' blog names (Yes! He said that to me as well).
Mona Singh started off by talking about a dress, which dates back to her college days, that is really close to her heart and the story behind it. Manish gave her some tips and styled the same dress with Hot pink pumps, some accessories etc.He also gave us tips on how to preserve clothes for a longer period of time.
Manish then spoke about fashion in India, brands abroad, about himself and why he loves his association with films as a fashion designer. He said, "I love working for films. I have been doing that for the last 15 years". A couple of bloggers asked him questions and so did I!

My question was very simple (although I knew his answer to this question, it was a pretty old one and I thought he might say something new). I asked him, "We all know that celebrities love wearing clothes designed by you. But who is that one female celebrity, whom you consider as a fashion icon, someone who dresses up very well and for whom you love designing clothes"?
Without taking any time, Manish said, "Kareena Kapoor. I love the way she dresses up. She doesn't make any piece of clothing look bad or indecent. Her charisma is enough for people to stand up and notice her. She is a dream for every designer. Another one is Sonam, but I think it's high time people stop noticing her only for her public appearances and style. She needs to be noticed for her work in films as well".
Well, I expected this response from him and I absolutely agree with him on the point about Bebo.

After an hour long discussion, it was time for the duo to leave! We thanked both Manish and Mona for giving us such wonderful tips and taking time out for this wonderful discussion. We also thanked the team behind this event, who gave us a chance to bond over what we love best.
