Punjabi Flavours | Vipul Amrutlal Shah on the challenges of shooting in Punjab for Namaste England

After treating the audience with the romantic comedy - Namastey London [starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif], film maker and producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah is now ready with his next - Namaste England, which stars Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. The Gujarati director is well known for the unique ‘Punjabi' flavour in his movies. Interestingly, films like Namaste London, London Dreams, Commando among others have been extensively shot in Punjab.
Taking forward the same tradition and franchise, Namaste England is a love story that spans across the landscapes of India and Europe, starting from Punjab, moving to Ludhiana, Amritsar, Dhaka and all the way to Paris and finally - London. The film promises to be a young and refreshing story that traces the journey of two individuals - Jasmeet and Param (played by Chopra and Kapoor).
Talking about his experience of shooting in Punjab again, the director shares, “This time, shooting for Namaste England was very challenging. I have shot for some of my previous films there, but this time, my aim was to showcase Punjab in a very different way. I somehow wanted to show Punjab as the most beautiful and conducive place for a love story to naturally happen.” For this, the director wanted to create a poetic world, where the girl and guy eventually fall in love. He quips, “The production team has done a wonderful job in making every location of Punjab look really good in the movie. Anyone would end up falling in love, in that set up. We have shot in and around more than 100 locations in Punjab. It took us almost a month to scout all the locations.” He further added that there were times when the cast and crew would travel 3-4 hours at a stretch, just to film a particular shot at that location.
The trailer has already given us a glimpse of Param and Jasmeet’s journey. Some of the songs are already creating waves, ranging from the soothing ‘Tere Liye’ to the peppy ‘Bhare Bazaar’ and the recently launched groovy number - ‘Proper Patola’. With the film scheduled to release next week, it would be interesting to see how the audience responds to this entertaining love story.
Presented by Jayantilal Gada (pen) & Reliance Entertainment present in Association with BlockBuster Movie Entertainers, Namaste England is all set to hit the screens this Dussehra - October 19, 2018.

One of those posts where the video will speak louder than words. I got the golden opportunity to witness the Beating Retreat ceremony at the India - Pakistan border near Attari (Amritsar) earlier this year. The experience left my heart swelling with pride, with memories that I shall cherish for a lifetime! Salute to the Indian Army and Border Security Force.
Finally! Here's presenting The Wagah Border - Beating Retreat Ceremony Vlog.
An experience of a lifetime.

The Amritsar Vlog Part I | Dancebee Travels
So, it finally happened. After a lot of rescheduling, change of plans and date shuffles, I finally managed to visit Amritsar (Punjab) last month. Although I had originally planned to include a few other parts of Punjab, along with Himachal Pradesh in the itinerary, my schedule had space for just a four day break. Well, that was enough to cover the city of Amritsar. Fortunately, the weather gods were pleased and we experienced the last week of winter in the scenic city. Temperatures fell to almost 8 - 9 degrees at night (Mumbai was around 30 degrees the same time), making it a trip to remember!
Of course, how can I forget my lovely readers and followers? Keeping in mind several queries that were asked during my stay, I decided the vlog throughout the trip, in order to ensure we cover the popular areas in Amritsar and help you with some travel tips + advice. Part I of my vlog is finally out, where I experience the tranquility and blissful atmosphere at Harminder Saheb (Golden Temple), take a long stroll at the newly constructed Ranjit Singh Chowk lane and gorge on yummy local food. So, hop on to #DancebeeTravels ki gaddi and get ready to experience the picturesque city of Amritsar.
Love,
The Dancebee
