Ayushmann Khuraana is the new 'Dream Girl' in Town
Fresh from the success of his 100+ crore film 'Badhaai Ho' and basking in critical acclaim for his performance in 'Andha Dhun', there is no stopping Ayushmann Khurrana. The actor, who has been busy delivering one hit after another at the BO, will now be seen in a rather quirky film. And, he recently took to his social media account to share the first look.
Khurrana's next is titled Dream Girl, and the film promises to be a quirky drama, full of fun. The first look features the actor sitting on a bike wearing a t-shirt and yellow saree, along with yellow bangles. Well, now that's some serious twist. And, his expressions clearly has a lot to say. Sharing the first look, Ayushmann wrote, “As whacky as it can get! Here’s the first glimpse of my look in and as #DreamGirl." The actor kickstarted shooting for the film this week in Mathura, and the actor was seen sharing glimpses from the ongoing shoot on social media. The BTS images and clips has got our curiosity quotient a level up.

Dream Girl also stars Nushrat Bharucha in a pivotal role alongside Khurrana. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, the film is helmed by debutant director Raaj Shandilyaa.

With less than a fortnight left for the release, Yash Raj Films' much awaited action adventure - Thugs of Hindostan, has been creating immense buzz. The film, which boasts of breath-taking visuals and scale, was shot in several exotic locations like Malta and Thailand. Let's give you a quick sneak peek into what exactly unfolded during their Thailand schedule.
The team shot in rain forests and the picturesque Bora Island, but little did they know that it would turn out to be an adventure. Amitabh Bachchan, who plays the interesting character - Khuda Baksh, stated “I couldn't understand Viktor’s philosophy of wanting to go to Thailand to shoot this sequence, but he said we found a wonderful location and was keen on exploring that. I must admit that when I went there and saw the location, it was absolutely awe inspiring." The actor added that it was a massive cave, which was almost 20 to 30 stories high, and he confessed that it was difficult to imagine how nature was able to create this. "While we were shooting on two or three locations, we had visitors without a pass on our location. Huge snakes would suddenly appear out of the rocks. Many a times there were little pranks that everyone was playing by throwing rubber snakes,” quipped Bachchan.
Film maker Vijay Krishna Acharya [fondly called Viktor] chose a cave on the island to be Khuda Baksh’s hide out. But, reaching the set was cumbersome for Sr Bachchan, who had to walk for more than half an hour to reach the cave. So, just for him, the team built a palkhi!
“I had a lot of problems for the final walk. It had a climb, as it was mountainous. I have breathing problems. I tried a couple of times, but it was just not happening. They generously made a Palkhi for me. So, I was lifted and taken to the location, looking very regal,” added Bachchan. Aamir Khan, who plays Firangi Malla in the film, says he was wowed by the location in Thailand. He says, “When I walked in there for the first time, I was taken aback by the beauty of Poda Nui Island. It also felt like a real hideout. It had a massive cave with a huge ceiling and a river flowing through it. It’s a fantastic location.”
With visually grand, immersive experiences and jaw dropping action sequences, Thugs of Hindostan, co-starring Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh, is all set for a grand Diwali release. The film is set to release on November 8, 2018 in three languages - Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh come together again for Marjaavaan
Post basking in the success of their John Abraham starrer action drama - Satyameva Jayate, Bhushan Kumar, Nikkhil Advani and Milap Milan Zaveri are back together for yet another project! Titled Marjaavaan, the film promises to be an action-packed, high on drama, emotional love story, set against the backdrop of Mumbai. The film will have actors Riteish Deshmukh and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead.
The duo will be working together once again, after the 2014 hit - Ek Villain [helmed by Mohit Suri]. Interestingly, the film was penned by Milap Zaveri, who will now be directing them in Marjaavaan. The film will star Tara Sutaria as the female protagonist.
Talking about the film, T-Series CMD Kumar stated, “Extremely excited and proud to once again partner with Nikkhil and his team. We have together backed Milap’s earlier film and are confident of bringing this family entertainer for our audiences. Apart from an engaging story, the film will have wonderfully curated music to highlight the love story.” Adds Advani, “My company Emmay Entertainment has been developing this film with Milap since two years, and we hope to exceed expectations with Marjaavaan. Be prepared for action, dialogue-baazi Milap style, with a moving tale of love and longing.”

Director Zaveri, who received appreciation for his last film, stated that he has been grateful for all the support Satyameva Jayate has received so far. "I am excited and grateful to team up again with T-Series and Emmay. This is a family production for me to have all those associated with it, as part of it,” he quipped.
The film is scheduled to go on floors in December 2018, and as of now, has been slated for release on October 2nd, 2019. Well, we can't wait already!

The trick was to make him look tough, yet very cool | Saif Ali Khan on turning Shakun Kothari for Baazaar
After winning accolades for his first-ever web series - Sacred Games, actor Saif Ali Khan is now gearing up for his upcoming film release Baazaar, helmed by debutant Gauravv K Chawla. Khan, who is known to have rendered a variety of characters with different shades throughout his career, will now be seen playing a shrewd Gujarati businessman - Shakun Kothari, in the film. According to the actor, essaying this role was both challenging and complex. As a personality, Shakun Kothari is a sharp, astute and money-minded merchant, who knows his tricks to extract profit out of every business he undertakes.
Khan went on records to talk about the preparations he had to undergo before essaying his on-screen character in the film. Not only reading and research, but he categorically chose to get a first-hand experience of the share market, before starting off with his schedule.
Talking about the experience, Khan said, “I have always had a cursory knowledge of the market. Speaking to friends and reading books by people like Warren Buffet have all been very interesting. To research for this specific part, I drew on many personal equations and people I know in Mumbai. The Gujarati businessman is a definite type. The trick was to make him scary, tough and very cool. The accent also had to work, without making it caricaturish.”
The trailer of Baazaar received a good response, and has already created curiosity among cinema enthusiasts. The film also stars Radhika Apte, Chitrangda Singh, and debutant Rohan Mehra. Presented by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, in association with KYTA Productions, B4U Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment, Baazaar is scheduled to release on October 26.

Emraan Hashmi incorporates anti-sexual harassment clause in his company contracts
In the wake of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movement, actor Emraan Hashmi has now decided to include a clause incorporating the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace act in his employee and crew contracts (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) to safeguard women at their workplaces and forewarn men to not cross the line. Hashmi took to his official social media account to confirm this news, and released a statement regarding this development.
After multiple conversations with his lawyers and from his own experiences of discussing agreements with production houses through the course of his career, the actor took the decision to add a sexual harassment clause to his contracts, along with other necessary clauses, concerning confidentiality and termination.
Hashmi’s company - Emraan Hashmi Films was launched recently. The actor, who turns producer with the maiden venture - Cheat India [scheduled to release in 2019] stated, “Such clauses are already in contracts in several industries, including MNCs. No film production company has enforced it so far, but with the #MeToo movement that started a decade ago, picking up steam in the West last year and inching towards India, with someone being outed almost every hour on the social media, such clauses have become imperative. In my company at least, it will include both male and female cast and crew members.”
The actor and producer believes that having a universal moral code on a film set is the need of the hour. He quips, “In the given circumstances, having a universal moral code on the film set, dictated by the government’s guidelines, is the need of the hour. This will safeguard the interests of women and men will be forewarned so they don’t cross the line.”
Looking at the situation from a fair perspective, Hashmi further added that if there he added that while there are devious men, there are also devious women who might take this opportunity to settle scores. The actor said, “While it’s only right that the law favours a woman and protects her, there is need for some correction or revision, because with men could also be vulnerable."
He adds, ”In this scenario, the movement is a great start. It's our moral responsibility to protect women, who have been at the receiving end for way too long. But while most of the voices are speaking the truth, along with devious men, there are devious women with agendas too, who can use it against a man who has ticked them off in the past.”
Confirmed! Deepika Padukone to turn producer and act in Meghna Gulzar's next
After playing the titular role in one of 2018's biggest hits, the period drama - Padmaavat, it is now confirmed that Deepika Padukone will now collaborate with film maker Meghna Gulzar. This would be for a film based on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. This film, which is yet untitled, will not just have Padukone acting in it, but she will also be producing the film. The actress decided to make this her debut production venture, since she felt very strongly about the film.
Padukone shares, "When I heard the story, I was deeply moved. It is a story not just of gross violence, but of strength, courage, hope and victory.It has had such a massive impact on me, that I personally and creatively needed to go beyond and hence, the decision to turn producer too." Speaking about the subject of the film, Meghna Gulzar said, "In spite of regulation on the sale of acid and changes in legislation regarding acid attacks, both of which are consequences of the acid attack case of Laxmi and her PIL - the ground reality is still very grim. Acid violence is a very prevalent danger even today. Medical treatment, compensation, rehabilitation and inclusion of Acid attack survivors are still very real challenges." Further she stated that by using Laxmi’s story as a lens, the team is attempting to explore these aspects and consequences of Acid violence in our society. "This is what makes this story relevant and one that must be told. Because if anything, awareness is the first step towards change," she quipped.
Touting Deepika as the best choice for the role, Meghna says, "It is both an emotionally and physically challenging role to play. I was instinctively convinced that Deepika can do justice to the character and the story. Also, her physicality matched what I had imagined for the character of Laxmi. I am grateful and feel extremely encouraged that Deepika was so spontaneous in her decision to do this film. Also, when you take a face as beautiful as hers, and portray it as an Acid survivor, the magnitude of the violence and damage is that much more resounding."

Laxmi, who comes from a humble, unprivileged background, was 15 when the attack occurred, which was at a New Delhi bus stop in 2005. Her assailant was a man twice her age, known to her family and an unlikely suitor whose advances Laxmi had clearly declined. Through Laxmi’s story, the film makes an attempt to understand the on-ground consequences of surviving an acid attack in India, the medico-legal-social state of affairs that transpire after the acid has been hurled and the face is irreparably burnt. While the film showcases her journey in the time after her attack spanning 10 years, a significant part of the story is the game-changing PIL in the Supreme Court which inspired the amendment on acid laws in 2013. With various narratives intertwined, the film promises to be a gritty investigative piece, interspersed with a compelling courtroom drama. If the story is to be summed up in one line, then it is a story of the real triumph of human spirit.

Jackie Shroff to essay the role of Salman Khan's father in Bharat
With Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif already in the lead, it looks like the cast of Ali Abbas Zafar's directorial venture Bharat, keeps getting bigger. It is now confirmed that actor Jackie Shroff has joined the team, and will be seen essaying the role of Khan's father in the film.
Zafar confirmed that the Parinda actor has stepped in to play Khan's father in the period film.
Interestingly, Bharat depicts the eternal bond shared by a father and son, which was quite evident in the teaser released on Independence day last month. The film traces a journey of 60 years, and boasts of a strong ensemble cast including Disha Patani, Sunil Grover, Tabu among others.
Talking about Shroff joining the cast, director Zafar shares, "We met Jaggu da in London and discussed his dates and looks. I have wanted to work with him for a long time, as I feel he is the perfect amalgamation of a star and actor. I was very glad as Jackie sir instantly liked the story and agreed to do the film in just 20 minutes of narration."
There were also some images of Khan performing daredevil stunts on a motorbike, amidst a ring of fire in the circus set up, which further added to the excitement around this film. Interestingly, the actor will be seen sporting five different looks in the film, spanning 60 years. A crucial part of the film will showcase Khan in his late 20s, looking lean and younger. It is also said that the actor will recreate his avatar from the 90s hit 'Karan Arjun'.

It is a known fact that both Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra are currently busy with their next, an upcoming film based in Bihar, centred around a surprise wedding, titled 'Jabariya Jodi'. The cast took to their social media to reveal the first look of the film, ahead of their filming schedule, which has kickstarted this week. The vibrant posters feature Malhotra as Abhay and Chopra as Babli, clearly lost in each other's eyes.

Calm Down, Bollywood Fans! DDLJ is back at Maratha Mandir
As you guys know, we have been following up on this piece of news since day one. So, after a rather sad and gloomy Thursday, there were a few rays of hope that we could see in the form of a meeting between YRF and Maratha Mandir. While the decision to run the film for 10 weeks more was to be taken on Wednesday next week, it looks like public demand made the process even more easier. And now, for those who missed watching Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge at Maratha Mandir, do not fret, because the Raj-Simran romance is back at the same, old time slot.
An official statement from the folks at Yash Raj Films confirmed that DDLJ will be showed at 11:30 am again. They added that the sudden announcement of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge being pulled out from Maratha Mandir at the end of 1009 unprecedented weeks, resulted in a spontaneous and an overwhelming outcry from the audience, as well as dedicated fans of the movie, expressing their shock and disappointment.
We all know how ever since this news went out, the management at Maratha Mandir was flooded with requests to reinstate the movie, based on which they decided to immediately reconsider their decision. Now, it has been mutually decided to continue with the 11:30 am morning show - without breaking the uninterrupted run of the film. This, YRF believes, will only strengthen the unconditional love of all DDLJ fans over generations. They ended the note by expressing their gratitude to the management at Maratha Mandir, for taking the demands of the fans into consideration.
