iPhone 18: Latest Leaks, Features and What to Expect in September 2026 at the Apple Event

Apple’s next big iPhone reveal is just a weeks away, and as usual, the rumour mill has already done what it does best: spoil the surprise! None of the following details have been officially confirmed by Apple, but a growing pile of leaks and industry reports is painting an intriguing picture of what the iPhone 18 Pro lineup could look like. Oh, and the biggest theory? Apple may be changing not just the iPhone 18, but the way it launches iPhones altogether.

iPhone 18 Pro could headline September

Several recent reports suggest Apple could split the iPhone 18 family across two launch cycles. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are widely expected to arrive in September, while the standard iPhone 18 could reportedly be pushed to spring 2027. That would make September a decidedly “Pro” affair, potentially alongside Apple's long-rumoured first (much-awaited) foldable iPhone, which some reports call the iPhone Ultra.

A smaller Dynamic Island - or almost no island?

One of the most persistent iPhone 18 Pro rumours centres on the display. Apple is reportedly working towards moving some Face ID components underneath the screen, potentially allowing for a smaller Dynamic Island. It could be one of those classic Apple changes that looks minor on paper but becomes immediately noticeable in everyday use.

The camera could get its biggest upgrade yet

The iPhone 18 Pro’s camera system is also generating serious speculation. The headline rumour is a variable-aperture main camera, which could give users greater control over light, exposure and depth of field, something Android flagships have already explored. There is even talk that the feature could be exclusive to the iPhone 18 Pro Max, giving Apple another reason to push buyers towards its most expensive model.

A20 chip and a new generation of Apple silicon

Under the hood, the iPhone 18 Pro is rumoured to feature an A20 Pro chip built using TSMC’s 2nm process. One recent leak claims it could deliver up to 18% faster performance and 30% better power efficiency than the A19 Pro. Those figures remain unverified, but the move to 2nm would itself mark a significant step in Apple's chip roadmap. Apple is also rumoured to introduce its C2 modem, potentially bringing further improvements to connectivity and power efficiency.

And then, there’s the iPhone Ultra!

Perhaps the wildest theory is that September could finally see Apple enter the foldable-phone race. Reports suggest the mysterious foldable could carry the iPhone Ultra name, although even that remains disputed among leakers. For now, the iPhone 18 story remains exactly that. A story built from leaks, supply-chain whispers and popular Apple theories.

But, if even half of these rumours materialise, September 2026 could be one of Apple’s most interesting iPhone launches in years. What are your thoughts? Drop down your 'theories' around the much awaited iPhone launch.
